DEATH OF A BELOVED BOY
Last Sunday morning at 5:30 o'clock
a short sweet life came to a close when Ivan Smith THOMPSON, Jr. passed
away at his home after an illness of three weeks.
He was born Dec. 29, 1926 and died
May 24, 1931 being the only son of Mr. and Mrs. I. S. THOMPSON. "Smithy"
THOMPSON, as he was lovingly called was loved by all who know him for his
bright friendly face, and was an object
of joy to the whole community. He
was taken suddenly ill and as his trouble developed his attending physician,
Dr. S. J. SIMMONS became more and more alarmed and held consultations with
the best physicians to decide if he was correct in his diagnosis and all
agreed that his trouble was beyond the skill of man, and so his devoted
parents and many friends gave him every attention, but all to no avail
and so his passing has enveloped the whole community in sadness.
Funeral services were held at his
home, conducted by his pastor Edd HULSE. He was laid to rest in the family
cemetery by the side of his grandmother and hands that loved him carried
him to his last resting place and covered all that was mortal of "Smithy"
with flowers and left him to await the great resurrection.
Much sympathy is extended to his heartbroken
parents, sister, grandparents, relatives and friends.
