"Jesse M. Goff died July 10, 1916 at
his home on Pitman Creek near Summersville. He married a daughter of James
B. Montgomery and had
10 children, 5 sons and 5 daughters.
He was a Baptist, a Confederate soldier and is buried in the Montgomery
graveyard in the Salem neighborhood."
