Carl Kersey
1911-2003 

Carl Carmack Kersey, 92, of Corbin, passed away Wenesday, June 11,2003 at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 15,1911 in Harlan County, to the late Anderson and Ella Marcurm Kersey. He was a retired coal miner, a Kentucky Colonel and belonged to the Holiness faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife Annie Ethel Barber Kersey, a son Lawrence Kenneth Kersey, two brothers, James H. and Ruffs Kersey and two sisters, Phoebe Middleton and Pearlie Mills.
He is survived by two children, Ella Ruth Miles and husband
Dana of Corbin and Curtis Carl Kersey and wife Christine of
Sterling Heights, Mich.; four grandchildren, Dana Wade Miles and wife Phyllis and Keith Miles and wife Stacy all of Corbin;
Carla Waddlington and husband David, of Henderson, Tenn, and Curtis Daniel Kersey, of Sterling Heights, Mich.; three great grandchildren, Michael Miles of Corbin and Kelsey and Collin James Waddlington of Henderson, Tenn; a brother, Kyle Kersey and wife Mary of Corbin; four sisters, Sue Bird, of Williamsburg Dora Williams and husband Sidney of  Florence, Lena Siler of Corbin, Eula Mae Scalf and husband Jack of Lexington; and a special friend, Aileen Scalf of Corbin.
The funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at O'Neil 
Funeral Home chapel with Rev Doyle Lester officiating. Burial will be at Whitley Memorial Gardens at Williamsburg.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday (today).Memorials may be given to the Building Fund at First United Methodist Church in Corbin.
