Earl Lee Johnson, 78, of 694 Jocassee Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. 
A native of Pennington Gap, Va., he was a son of the late Enoch and Verdie Moore Johnson. Retired: Cabinet builder. Member: Harlan Christian Church, Harlan, Ky. 
Survivors: wife, Dorothy Cress Johnson; a daughter, Gloria Johnson of Salem; a daughter-in-law, Edna Bianchi Johnson; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Predeceased: a son, Bob R. Johnson; a daughter, Carolyn S. Johnson. 
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harlan Funeral Home, Harlan, Ky. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday at Lee Memorial Cemetery, Pennington Gap. -- Davenport Funeral Home.
