Green Skidmore, 89, of 503 S.
Highland Ave., died Friday at 12: 26 p.m. .-:. the Intensive Care Unit of
Bucyrus Community Hospital. He was admitted Thursday following a lengthy
illness.' He was born in Cranks, Ky to Nelson and Emily
(Leadford)'" Skidmore. . He was married Oct. 29.1931, to "Verda Middleton,
who survives. Also surviving are nine children, Oliver, Clarence, Paul and
Bill Skidmore, all of Bucyrus, Jean Wright, Vina Quinlan and Mary Chapman,
all of Bucyrus,  Betty Paragon of Three Rivers, Mich., and Jerlynn Sharp
Big Stone Gap, Va., 42 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and a sister
, Margaret King, Harlan, Ky. He was preceded in death by a daughter,
Della Hensley, five brothers and three sisters. A 30-year resident of
Bucyrus, Mr. Skidmore had attended school in Harlan County. He was a
laborer at General Hydraulics, retiring 27 years ago. Funeral services will
be held Sunday at 8 p.m. in the Munz- Pirnstill Funeral Home. Rev. Ernest
Surgener will officiate. Burial will be in Cawood Cemetery, Cawood, KY
. Monday at 4 p.m.. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday after
noon.
