John Trusty

TRUSTY, John M. 76, of Springfield passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005
in Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Harlan County, Kentucky, on September
8, 1928 to Newman and Nina (Jones) Trusty. John proudly served 24
years in the United States
Marine Corps. with one tour in World War II, two tours in Korea and
four in Vietnam,
before retiring at the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in 1968. He owned
and operated an Exxon
Station in Columbus, Ohio in the 70's and was Head Painter for the
Springfield City Schools
System in the late 80's and early 90's. John was also a member
of both the Springfield
I.O.O.F. and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1034. He is survived
by his wife of 24 years,
Teresa; one son, Thomas Trusty; one daughter, Patricia Sammons; six
step-children,
Chuck Fitzpatrick, Kenny Reeder, tere. Walters, Barbara Redcay, Cindy
Evoniuk and
Tom Reeder; one sister, Shirley Grusenmeyer; 19 grandchildren
and nine great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three
brothers, Edd, Andy
and Bill.
Service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the JONES- KENNEY-ZECHMAN
FUNERAL
HOME. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Military honors
and interment will be
held at Rose Hill Burial Park Friday, April 29, 2005 at 1 p.m. SEMPER
FI.
