Mary Ellen Johnson, 55 of Corbin, passed away Friday, June 15, 2002 at Baptist Regional Medical center. She was the daughter of the late Rufus and Jennie Smith Kersey, born August ,1946 in Harlan.She was homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal faith.She was preceded in death by her brother,Curtis Kersey;a sister,Wanda Kersey;and her father-in-law mother-in-law, John and AdaJohnson. is survived by her husband, Speed Johnson of Corbin; a son John Johnson of Corbin; eight brothers, Bill Kersey and wife Coreta of Walton, John Smith and wife Naomi of Williamsburg, Marshall Kersey and wife London,Charles Kersey and wife Connie of Tazewell, Tenn.,Carl Kersey and wife Debbie of Williamsburge, Clyde Kersey and wife Billie of Williamsburg, Pearl Kersey and wife Trudy of Williamsburge; sister, Carolyn Gent,of Middlesboro;19 nephews; 24 nieces; 32 great-nephews and nieces; brothers-in-law. Bill Johnson of Taylor, Ralph King and wife Mable of Taylor Mich; and a  host of family and friends who will mourn her passing.
The funeral service were Monday in the Corbin Funeral Home chapel with 
Rev.Arlie Peterr officiating.Burialwas in the Campbell Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Isaiah, David Isaiah, Elijah Lindsey, Charles 
Kersey, Jason Kersey, Greg Kersey,and
Leonard Huff.
