William Campbell Creech, well
know native of Harlan, County, died at
his home at Loyall today at 10:15 a.m. at the age of 74.
Mr. Creech was a civil engineer
and was one of the few natives who
had an active part in the engineering development of the county.
He had been in
ill health for a number of years and was retired.
Burial will be in the family
cemetery at Loyall.
He is survived by his wife,
Mrs Euphenia Horn Creech, Loyall; six
sons, Roy Creech, Loyall; Sgt. Enoch Creech, with the
U.S. Army in Alaska;
Seaman First Class Fred Creech, Gulfport, Miss; Bish Creech,
with the Navy in
the Pacific; Sgt. Marcus Creech, who has just returned to
Loyall from the
Pacific; Aviation Cadet W. C. Creech Jr., Maxwell Field, Ala;
Other survivors are four daughters, Mrs.
George Asher, Beverly, Ky;
Mrs. Walter Miniard, Teetersville; Mrs John Kerlin, Loyall;
and Mrs. H. B.
Hansard Jr, Oak Ridge, Tenn.
He leaves four brothers, L. D. Creech,
Atlanta, Ga; Aaron Creech,
Ypsilanti, Mich; J. S. Creech, Hazard, Ky; John
L. Creech, Loyall; and five
sisters, Mrs John Metcalf, Nolansburg; Mrs. Malinda Brown,
Loyall; Mrs Polly
Hoskins, Bush, Ky; Mrs Cinda Howard, Dayhoit; and Mrs. Frank
Kelly, Harlan.
The Masonic Lodge will have charge
of service at the cemetery.
