"Herman Landau (note there is
no "r" at end) wrote "Adath Louisville: The
Story of a Jewish Community," which was published in
1981. Much of his research collections are housed at the
University of Louisville Archives. The Herman Landau Papers
and an interview of a Jacob Landau by Zera Lipetz are also
part of the U of L Archives collections. Landau is pronounced
Lan-dow and I wonder if Landauer isn't a variant
spelling. You may want to check what is available about
the Jewish communities in Louisville in the U of L archives by
