found from an old book at the Oldham County Library entitled "Old
Cemeteries of Jefferson County". It basically was an
old folder with copied pages from other publications. It was in
very poor condition and falling apart. "Copied and
presented to the Filson Club of Louisville, Kentucky by Fincastle
Chapter, D.A.R., Nov 1934."

Mrs. McDowell is a Shively descendent. This listing was left in
the order as originally transcribed, so you might want to use your

Located
on Dixie Highway about one quarter of a mile beyond St. Helens, on
the left side of the road. The cemetery adjoins the Hardy
Funeral Home, Shively.

A tall beautiful obelisk-type stone
marked "Shively" dedicates the cemetery:
In Memory of Christian Shively,
Soldier of the American Revolution, Born in Pennsylvania, Settled
on 1000 acres in this section in 1780. He, his wife, and
five generations of his family are buried in this cemetery.
