St. Michael's Cemetery
St. Michael's Cemetery was first laid out in 1851 as a German Catholic Cemetery.  The property originally donated by Mr. Goss was called "St. Michael-Gottes Acker" or, "St. Michael-God's Acre.  St. Boniface, St. Martin and St. Vincent de Paul were originally responsible for the maintenance of St. Michael's.  St. Elizabeth of Hungary added their support in 1906.  Diocesan and Franciscan priests, Ursuline Sisters, Sisters of St. Frances and Sisters of Notre Dame have their lots at St. Michael's. - history contributed by Janis Fowler
