Louisville Free Public Library  301 W. York Street, Louisville, KY 40202, 502-574-1611

The Louisville Free Public Library has several branches throughout the city, but the main branch downtown has the bulk of genealogy material.   It rivals any historical society and the state Library and Archives in Frankfort.  It is a "must stop" when working on your family tree.  The Main Library is located on York Street between 3rd and 4th streets, one block south of Broadway.  The phone number for Genealogy Resources is 502-574-1616.  Their hours are
