Fury,  John

Private in the 1st Regiment of United States Infantry War of 1812

John Fury, who was a Captain in the company commanded by Captain N. Heald (?) in the first regiment of the United States Infantry, whose degree of disability was rated total, who was discharged 24 Mar 1814 was inscribed on the Pension Roll of Kentucky Agency to commence 25 Mar 1814.  Certificate of the pension was issued 28 Aug 1815.

Nathan Thald, Major in the 4th regiment of the United States Infantry made declaration in Louisville, Kentucky on 05 Mar 1814, that John Fury, who was a private soldier in the company of the first regiment of infantry of the United States, was severely wounded by a rifle shot while performing duty under the command of said N. Thald, in action with the Indians at Chicago on 16 Aug 1812, and that the surgeon who attended to the troops in Chicago, was killed in action and that said Fury had no surgeon to attend to him after he was wounded.

John Johnson made affidavit on 19 Oct 1819 by letter to the pension commissioner that the above named soldier, John Fury, was a native of Ireland and served in the U.S. Army and that he is now entirely incapable of earning his support, that said Fury was living at the house of said John Johnson until he heard from the Commissioner of Pensions.
