The 1860 Johnson County Kentucky Census is the second census of Johnson County Kentucky. The 1860 like the 1850 census continues to list household members. Although listing household members it doesnt list the persons relationship to the head of household. This does not happen until the 1880 census.
Vital Statistics were not kept in Johnson County until 1852, so the 1860 is the first census to have a base to cross reference these records. The period from 1852-1859 is the largest amount of vital statistics information until records were required to be kept in modern times. When a date is recorded without a location, the location is Johnson Co, Ky. The Vital Statistics information were extracted from Charles C Wells Vital Statistics of Johnson County, Ky. When jvs follows a date it is a reference to this book.
Marriage records were cross-referenced from:
Joe R Skeens Floyd County Kentucky Marriage Books
Index of Marriages of Johnson County Kentucky 1843-1900 Copied by Janet (May) Horne & Irene Adams
This census was put together as a reference tool, It is not a Primary Source. It is to be used as a guide only. Original sources should always be referred to, to confirm information.
