Johnson County Kentucky
Land Ownership Map ca. 1879

There are no land plat maps in existence for Johnson County. Since there are no townships, etc dividing the county into small recognizable sections none were ever made. This is common south of the Ohio River.

But, there exists this one map. It lists a good many landowners and shows where folks lived. It is far from being completed or finished, and I may not even have the entire map here at this time to scan. But hopefully it will help. The original is in Frankfort.

Note: I am not sure of the date on this map. It's marked 1879, but I see in one case "Wid Jones", living near Henry Salyer. This is Phebe (Sturgill) Jones, 2nd wife of John Ray Jones, living near Henry Salyer and his wife Alina Jones. From everything I have found so far, Phebe was not a widow in 1879. Perhaps it took years to complete this much?
