     These records were orginally
published by Ruth N. Smith and
Russel Sue Smith,  Knott Historical
Society Trustees,  in the 1984 Cen-
tennial Edition of the Troublesome
Creek Times.  They were subsequen-
tly computerized and reformatted
by David R. Smith, Society Trustee,
and sold as a fundraising effort
by the endorsement of the original
transcribers.  They were sold for
$5.00.

After the Society was able to
purchase the microfilm of these
records from the money raised
from the marriage booklets, we
recomputerized the records  in their
entirety listing all details about the
records.

    Actual images of Marriage Book
1A  can be viewed at the publicly
archived records on the WayBack
Machine (an offsite link).  These
records were photoimaged by
Damon Wicker.  The WayBack
Machine archives all public web-
sites and stores this internet history
in Alexandria, Egypt.

    Please note the Society's volunteers
will take orders for non-notarized copies

include book and page number as listed
in our records, and $6.00 to the Knott
Historical Society, Box 147, Carew
Drive, Duke's Branch Road, Hindman,
Ky.  41822.  We have three volunteers
who have committed themselves to do
this service.  Allow a week to ten days
for processing as our volunteers work
when they can.  We hope to continue
this  service.
