John Farris to (Grandsons) Heirs of James Ferris 1827 |

This Indenture made & entered into this
21st day of June 1827 between John Farris of the County of Laurel &
State of Kentucky of the one part & Isaac Farris, Hiram Farris, John
Farris & Joseph Farris, Heirs of James Farris Dec'd. of the other part.
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Love & affection I
bear to my four Grand sons to wit: Isaac Farris, Hiram Farris, John Farris
& Joseph Farris, and for the sum of one dollar in hand paid the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged having granted & conveyed and by these
presents grant, convey & confirm a certain tract of Land lying &
being in the County of Laurel containing by Survey one hundred and fifteen
acres be the same more or less and bounded as followeth. (to wit) Beginning
on the East bank of Little Laurel near the mouth of a small stream at a
post Oak & Maple thence S. 41 E. 140 poles to a double White oak thence
N 50 E 150 poles to a double Spanish oak thence N 59 W 130 poles to two
white oaks on the East bank of Little Laurel thence down the same with
the Meanders to the beginning. To have & to hold the said tract
or parcel of Land with all & singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging
to the said Isaac Farris, Hiram Farris, John Farris & Joseph Farris,
their heirs & assigns forever. The said John Farris doth bind himself
to warrant & forever defend a good & Lawful right & title to
the above described tract of Land unto the said Isaac Farris, Hiram Farris,
John Farris & Joseph Farris against himself his heirs or assigns or
either of them or any claiming under them but against no other person or
claim whatsoever. As witness hereto I have set my hand & seal the day
& date above written.

I Lot P i t m a n Clerk of the County Court
aforesaid do certify that the foregoing deed from John Farris to the heirs
of James Farris Dec'd was produced to me on the 21st day of June last &
acknowledged by the said John Farris to be his act & deed for the purposes
therein mentioned & the same is duly admitted to record. Given under
my hand the 26th day of July 1827.
