Dallas Allen, 73, of Johnson Road, London, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at the Marymount Medical Center in London.

Born April 25, 1929, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a retired worker for the American Greetings Co. and was a member of the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church of London.

She was preceded in death by his parents, Lizzie (Crook) Proffitt and Zee Proffitt; a son, Travis Allen; and a brother, Esmond Edward Proffitt.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Billie Allen, of London, Kentucky, whom she married on February 26, 1951; a daughter, Diane Brooks and husband Terry of Williamsburg, Kentucky; a son, Shawn Allen and wife Vickie of London, Kentucky; two brothers, Zee Proffitt Jr. of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and Franklin Proffitt of London, Kentucky; a sister, Masacal Cowin of Cambridge, Indiana; and a grandson, Chad Tankersley of London, Kentucky.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cecil Benge, Bro. Jerry Hurst, and Bro. Hardin Owens officiating.

Burial followed in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily, Kentucky.
