The Ed Gose Grist Mill ...Submitted by Charles Maynard.
Formerly located on Route 23 not too far from Belles Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
(County Coordinator's Note: I remember so well as a small child [1945-1950], going with Dad [Henry S. Young from Georges Creek] and my older brother [Harold Young] to take our corn to this mill to have it ground into cornmeal. Stone ground corn makes the most wonderful cornbread. I am searching for a photo of the mill. If anyone has one they will share, I will be so grateful and so will everyone else who has happy memories of this mill and its owner, Ed Gose.)

Charles S. Maynard is the son of Elliott Maynard who lived at the corner of Rt.
23 and Rt. 1760 (Georges Creek) across from the original Belles Chapel Free Will
Baptist Church. Elliott was the submitter's grandfather. Elliott donated the
land to the church where the original Belles Chapel Church stood before Route 23
was widened and the church moved a little bit north to its present
location.
