ANNA LARGE ADAMS, widow of James Adams, died September 27, 1907, after a second stroke. Anna’s obituary appeared in the "Big Sandy News":
"Big Sandy News, Louisa, Kentucky; date of paper: Oct. 19, 1907
Irad News - page 6
Died Sept. 27, 1907 ANNA ADAMS, age 83 years. She was the last sister of W.M. Large who died a few years ago. She was a good Christian and has gone to her reward in heaven. To her children and grandchildren, shout - not weep - but prepare to meet her in heaven. Why should we mourn departed friends or shake at deaths alarm.
It is but the voice of Jesus sends to call us to his arms. Jesus said lay not our treasures on earth but Sister Adams did this.
She was a member of the M.E. Church for many years. Let us all prepare to meet her in heaven. Signed: Rev. T.H. Large."
Anna Large Adams was buried in the Adams Cemetery at Oak Hill, near Irish Creek, in Lawrence County, Kentucky. Her husband James Adams 1827 -1890, son of Arthur Adams and Peggy/Frances Horne, is also buried there.
NOTE: According to Marlin Large whose grandfather Jacob Burton Large was a brother to TH. Large, "The Rev Thomas Large is the son of William G Large and Malissa Burton."
A transcribed copy of the obituary was sent to Frankie Adams Perry by Regina Diamond Tackett, both great-great-granddaughters of Anna and James.
