Sale of land: Document in the possession of Sarah Elizabeth Rice of Fallsburg, Lawrence County, Kentucky. Transcribed 11 November 2001. Sandra Salyers

Know ye all men by these present that I Mathias Rice am held and firmly bound unto Coonrad Rife in the just and full sum of One Hundred Dollars the payment in sum of will and truly to be made unto the SO Coonrad Rife his heirs or offspring the SO Mathias Rice brings himself his heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these present as witnes of my hand and scrib this 29th August 1835.

The condition of the above obligation is such that where as the said Mathias Rice have sold unto Coonrad Rife a certain tract an parsel of land containing Seventy five acres lying and being in the County of Lawrence and State of Kentucky an a creek called Garner the place where the said Mathias Rice now lives, now if the above bound Mathias Rice do make or cause to be made a good and lawful rite and  title to the above named Seventy five acres of land on or before tha first day of January 1836 then the above ......a obligation is void of no effect otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in Law given under my hand this 29th August 1835.
