BANKS, CHRISTIAN, PRUITT

August 20, 1999 Paula Dunklin
Tab I'm seeking information on my great grandmother, Mary Margaret BANKS, born 1842 in an unknown county of Kentucky. She is thought to be daughter of Henry BANKS of Letcher County Ky. Some data I've received states he was married twice....first to a Catherine PRUITT and second, to Nancy CHRISTIAN. He is said to have been born in 1785 in NC and to have had 13 children between the two wives. They were: Cassandra; John D.; William; Susannah; Anna; Nancy; Joel; Henry Calvin; David; Andrew Jackson; Allen C.; James; and Mary, born 1842. Is this Mary my great grandmother? My Mary Margaret married at age 13 to Reuben MANNING of FL & TX. They were in AL in 1862-1865, then moved on to settle in Limestone/Freestone County, in central Texas. There they raised their family and died. Both are buried in Cotton Gin Cemetery in Freestone county, Tx. I must identify her parents to continue researching my family tree. Please contact me at: Paula Dunklin, 20114 Nightbird Trail, Crosby, Texas 77532, or email me at dunk1432@swbell.net

LEMASTER, MORGAN

Tab I am looking for the parents of Frank W. MORGAN. His death certificate says they are Daniel MORGAN and Martha LEMASTER both born in Letcher County. I have evidence that Daniel was born about 1820. However Letcher County did not exist until 1842; it was formed out of Perry and Harlan Co. Perry was formed out of Clay and Floyd in 1820. Also Harlan was formed out of Knox in 1819. I have already checked out Knox - no luck. The question is which county would most likely contain what I'm looking for, which is any evidence of there existence. Can anyone help?

Tab I am looking for information on my g-g-g-grandfather, Isaac MULLINS. I have no further information on him than that he was born in KY [according to the 1850 Breathitt Co. census] about 1816, married Polly WIREMAN in Floyd County, KY, on April 18, 1835...that he is no longer with her in the 1860 Floyd Census - she is alive and listed as living back with her parents [John WIREMAN and Rebecca CARPENTER], so he either died, or left! Since he lists his birthplace as KY in the 1850 Breathitt Co., census, I am checking surrounding counties in hopes of finding parents. If you could give me any help, I would appreciate it. I would like to find where he was born and who his parents were. Thank you in advance for any and all help.
