During my first trip to Letcher county, looking for my husband's grandparents, we came across a small cemetery within a larger cemetery. When I went back by myself, I decided that I would photograph the headstones of that cemetery, and transcribe that cemetery from those photos. Some of the photos didn't come out as well as I would have liked, and the rain was so bad the next day, I didn't have a chance to re-take the photos. But, I transcribed what I could. I'm hoping that someone else might be in the area of this cemetery and be able to help out with some of the missing information. If not, it will wait until I get back down there.

The Combs Family Cemetery is up on a hill, as part of, I think, Green Acres Cemetery, in Whitesburg. It's fenced off behind the office for Green Acres. The Green Acres Cemetery is located on Route 15 on the south side of town. I tried to take the photos in the order of the "location" of the grave. They are not alphabetized at all. I think some are "out of order", but I did my best, and will take another look at the cemetery next time I go there.
