Capt. James Peyton received a land grant south of Green River  and a 400 acre pioneer grant in 
Lincoln County  Va. before he was placed in Nelson Co. after it became a county.  He was a 
Captain of Militia of Botetout Co. Va.  He was my sixth Gr. Grandfather and was the  father of 
Ruthie Peyton, wife of James Thompson, Surveyor of Lincoln.
