James Thompson, first surveyor of Lincoln Co. Virginia and again was appointed when Ky became a 
state( even though he lived in Garrard Co.). He served with George Rogers Clark and Benjamin 
Logan as well as supplying horses at The Falls Of Ohio and Blue Licks.  He was the Team Horse 
Wagonmaster at Blue Licks. He also became a representative and senator of Garrard.  He was
also a member of the original Justices when Kentucky was separated from Virginia.  He was my 
fifth Gr Grandfather as well as was Benedict Swope Sr. also a Justice.
