Harvey / Bailey Family
Genealogy

(But
I have an extensive (my opinion anyway) genealogy of the Madison Co., KY
Harvey families. This site would also include a lot of info on the
Broaddus, Johns and Perkins families in/from Madison Co.) |

I am researching my family history, surnames: Kidwell,
Barnett, Brummett, Gadd, Stevens, Pruitt, Chaney, Fish, Wolfe, Dalton,
Coffey and
many more.
I am
researching the following families Thomas, Taylor, Garrett, Gentry, Edwards,
Woodward and
Portwood in both Estill Co. & Madison Co., Ky.
I am looking for the
Chasteen
line. My ggm was Jannie Chasteen. Her father was William and mother was Susan
Roberts. I am
trying to confirm this info. Jannie was born 1882 or 1883. She married Joseph
Lambert in 1888, I believe. I am trying to confirm her parents William and
Susan Roberts, where they were born, their parents, etc. Jannie had bro's Bob
Chasteen, John Henry, etc. I would appreciate any info I can get. What info
I have
is this; William's father was Jesse Chasteen, his father was Jesse Chasteen, his father was
James Chasteen that was in the Revolutionary War. He died 1841 in Madison or
Rockcastle
(back then part of Rockcastle was Madison) James was married to Nancy
Kennedy, They bought land at Brush Creek either in Rockcastle or Madison County.
Can
anyone help? I would also like information on Joseph Lambert's line. Thanks!!
I have forty
years' experience in genealogy. I have a degree in American history from
Transylvania University and a Master's in Library Science-Special
Collections from the University of Kentucky. I was assistant editor of
Kentucky Ancestors Magazine for the Kentucky Historical Society for several
years and most recently was Curator of the John Alden House Museum in
Duxbury, Massachusetts, and Librarian at the General Society of Mayflower
Descendants in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
I returned to Kentucky last July and am living in Richmond, Madison
Co.
I do research in Madison, Rockcastle, Estill, Jackson and Garrard Counties,
and will consider Fayette and Clark.
I
am researching my family tree. My grandfather was Julius Hensley. His father
was John E. Hensley and his mother was Jane Webb. Julius married Ettie
Turner. I think her father was Steven (Stephen) Turner and I think he
married a Martha Lake (Lakes). Also my gggrandfather was Hiram Bundren
(Bondurant, Bundrant, Bundran, etc). He married a Mary E. Hayes. This is all
I know. Other names I am working on are: Bundren (spelled many ways, Barmes,
Turner, Lakes, Webb, Daniels, Watson, Sherrell, Cleary, Smith, Appleton,
Teitsort, and Brewer just to name a few. Please contact me if you can help!
I am trying to
find some one in Madison County, to look up some information concerning some
of my people, in the County Clerks Office. I have a list of the information,
would like some ones name and address so that I may contact them to make
arrangements for looking up the data. This goes back to the records of the
1840's. Please contact me if you are willing to help.
