Pictured here are James Columbus "Bud" Boyatt born in Stavens, Wayne Co. KY on Feb. 28, 1892.  Bud was the son of John Wesley and Margaret Burke Boyatt.  Bud died on Jan. 23, 1953 and is buried at the Burke-Boyatt Cemetary at Stearns, Ky.  Bud is pictured with his daughter Margaret Boyatt Smith and his two granddaughters Virginia, and the youngest is Sue who generously contributed this picture and the one above. 

 

Jerry and Larry Burke, sons of George Miller and Nancy Pauline Smith Burke. George was born in 1918-1961 and Nancy 1919-2002. The boys were born around 1940-1941. But I am not sure of their date of birth. They were from Stearns, McCreary County, Kentucky. Contributor: Sue Hasty

Left-Right back:  Lola, Laura, Nelson "Red", Martha Jane who married James Coumbus Boyatt, and Maggie.  All children of John and Nellie.  Picture taken about the 1920's.
John was born 11-10-1860 died 11-08-1937 s/o James Granville Foster/Matilda Ramsey.
Nellie was born 11-04-1864 died 01-07-1943 d/o David Foster/Nancy Watters
Both are buried at the Hickman Cem. in McCreary Co. Ky.

UPDATE:

I think one of those was my oldest brother Lawerence Malone who is deceased , we lived on Williamsburg Street as it was known then between the years of 1939 and 1945. He went from CCC"S directly to US Army. I don't recall if he was drafted or volunteered . I do recall visiting him at the camp . He would be in the middle of three men on ground facing away from camera. I think they may have been operating sawmill still in building stage of the CCC Camp. They also built roads in county. Clearing the right of way . David Malone

UPDATE Aug. 26, 2004:

Hello and Thank You!     I submitted a photo to you of Nancy J. Neal, the daughter of Henry & Naomi Johnson Neal.  I receivd information that she was married to a Wasson, probably Henry and she is the mother of Julia Wasson who married Edgar Stephens.  They were said to have moved to Oklahoma.  I have no other information on them.  Thank you.    Ginni Neal Griffin
