Leland Stanford and Lenford Thomas Smith, sons of John Milton and Sarah Emmaline Anderson Smith. Leland was born May 7, 1918 and Lenford was born August 12, 1919 and died May 11, 2000. They were orphans by 1928 and were raised by Lemuel Clarence Smith, the oldest brother.      

 


This is when my Dad came home from the war and was stationed in OK. My Mother took me by train to see my Dad. It was the very first time he got to see me. I was born while he was in France in 1943. This was taken in 1945. by: Sue Hasty

 


My Grandfather, James Columbus Boyatt, my Dad, Lenford Thomas Smith, my sister, Virginia Ann Smith, and I (the smaller one), Sue Carol Smith, standing in front of my Grandfather's train. Taken about 1947-1948 in Stearns, KY. My Dad was home from the war and we had moved to Cincinnati, OH. We were visiting my grandparents in Stearns, KY. My grandfather was an engineer on the K&T Railroad in Stearns

Left to Right, Helen "Polly" Burke Steele Bell, Anna Blevins Burke, Margaret Burke Boyatt.

Helen "Polly" Burke Steele Bell was born about 1880 in Wayne County, Kentucky. She married 1st, Richard Steele, son of Henley Steele and Elizabeth Bell, about 1907. She married 2nd, Thomas Francis Bell, after 1920.

Anna Blevins Burke, born about 1844 in Wayne County, Kentucky, married John Granville Burke, son of Jonathan and Nancy Cooper Burke, about 1861. She died about 1933 in McCreary County, Kentucky.

Margaret Burke Boyatt, born July 22, 1868 in Scott County, Tennessee. She married John Wesley Boyatt, son of Granville Boyatt, on July 4, 1889 in Scott County, Tennessee. She died October 17, 1948 in McCreary County, Kentucky. And is buried in the Burke/Boyatt Family Cemetery, Stearns, McCreary County, Kentucky. John Wesley and Margaret Burke Boyatt are the parents to my Grandfather, James Columbus Boyatt, born February 28, 1892.


John Wesley Boyatt, born June 10, 1866 in Scott County, TN. The son of Granville and Nancy Slaven Boyatt. He died February 10, 1936, in McCreary County, Kentucky. He is buried in the Burke/Boyatt Family Cemetery, Stearns, McCreary County, Kentucky. Married Margaret Burke, daughter of John Granville and Anna Blevins Burke, on July 4, 1889, in Scott County, Tennessee. She was born July 22, 1868, in Scott County, Tennessee and died October 17, 1948, in McCreary County, Kentucky. She is buried in the Burke/Boyatt Family Cemetery in Stearns, McCreary County, Kentucky.
