Jennings Surnames: BOBBITT, JENNINGS #01923 Anita <rap1124@hotmail.com> Wed, 26 Jan 2000 << Previous in Thread Clarence
Two years after your query, I have some info for you. I don't know anything specific regarding your Jonathan except that he is my 5th great grandfather. His grandson Peyton Randolph Jennings, who married Nancey Todd in 1811, moved to the Ballard-Carlisle Ky area in the 1840's and left a HUGE family. At that time, they lived in Owen Co, where P.R.'s father, also a Jonathan (m. Ann Woods) died in 1816. I found a abstract of his will in a old copy of Ky. Ancestors. Rumor has it that your Jonathan was killed by Indians north of what is now Nashville. I have found this runor on several occasions. I have found several references to Diannah (spelled several different ways) in law suits in LIncoln Co. Records. I hope this is some help.
