i am looking for any information about a george deshazer married to sallie brasher they were parents of claud deshazer he came to texas. we can tie them to mercer co. and logan co. ky.george was born apr 1855 sallie born aug. 1856 that's all we know.

Can anyone tell me more about the "Carr's Ferry" on the the Ky River in the early 1800's(Warrick Road). I know Richard Carr was said to have run it. Is there any historical information about it? Or him in relationship to it? Thanks, Robin

Attention Ted Steele Response from Anna Jean Dickey Springer re: Gaines Family Yes, according to the official Genealogist for the Strother Association, William Gaines m. Ann Strother in Va. and they moved to Danville, Ky. They had a daughter, Catherine (Katherine - nickname "Kitty") who married William Bruce on November 26, 1797. Katherine was the sister to my 4th Gr. Grandmother, Elizabeth "Betsy" Gaines who married Rowlett Rice. William and Ann Strother Gaines are buried near their former home (which is being renovated at this time) and the cemetery really needs to be restored - I have some pictures. Anna Jean D. Springer

I am searching for the parentage of Susannah HOLLOWAY, who married in December 1809 in Jessamine County to George DONNER.When Susannah married, George DAVIDSON and his wife Mary signed for her to marry saying they gave permission for "our daughter" to marry. Wondering if perhaps the Mary HOLLOWAY named in the will of George HOLLOWAY of Mercer County, could have re-married George DAVIDSON and moved on to Jessamine County or perhaps my Susannah HOLLOWAY was the child of Samuel, James, John or Clayton HOLLOWAY named in the George HOLLOWAY will located in Will Book 1, page 95, Mercer County, Ky. Is there any further information shown in the actual will that is not shown in the extract? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jo Ann

The only George DeShazer I found was born about 1870 and died 1924, Father was Lewis, no name of wife given. I thought he tied in with my William DeShazer, but now don't believe so, does it work with your line?

I am researchin a John Cornelius VanArsdall B. 1828 in Mercer Co. KY. He m. Elizabeth Ann Scott. and Moved up through IN finally settling in Johnson Co.IN His Mothers name was Elizabeth ? m. ? Van Arsdall During research I keep finding mention of Elizabeth Casaday and Isaac Van Arsdall but have never been able to find a list of their Children. Could this fit in? Thanks very much for your help the george we are looking for could be the same. there is a 15 year difference in the birthdate; but this is not uncommon. do you have any more information on this george in mercer co.are you related to the Deshazer line?

I had found a obituary notice on a George DeShazer, who died abt 1934 in Warwick Pike? Mercer County? In the notice, it lists a son, William, two sisters Lizzie Dean and Hattie DeShazer, two brothers, John and J.J. of Mercer County. Also said he died at the home of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Louis DeShazer onthe Warwick Pike. I originally thought he was the father of my William deShazer, born 1808, but being that George died at age 54, he would have been a lot younger than MY William. I have been told that MY William is the son of Henry who was a Rev War pensioner who lived in Mercer Co. This is from Linda Stufflebeam dstuf@worldnet.att.net, haven't confirmed it yet though. She may have something on your DeShazer line. Our line goes: William DeShazer md Rebecca Cloyd; Ther daughter, Pamela DeShazer md Edward Thomas Welch; Their son, William Milo Welch md Sarah Martin Reed;(no relation) their daughter, Zora Pearl Welch md Winfield Harris Reed; their son, Aubrey Loren Reed is my husbands father. I did find a 1880 Mercer Co Census that lists father Lewis DeShazer with one of children being a son, George age 10, but could find no connection to MY William other than that George had a son William. Any help?

Do you happen to have Israel/Isreal French, born abt 1827 in KY? He married Didama C. (unk) in the early 1850's in KY. They had two children in 1854 & 1855 in KY. They then went to the Rolla, MO area and were in Dade County, MO by the 1870 Census. This is one of the few counties that seem to have French's in KY. I'm really hoping for a break on this one. I am a 3rd great grandaughter of William Ambrose BROWN and Mary Grigsby TRAVERS and I have been trying to find the parents of these two also. I come through their oldest daughter Margaret T. BROWN who md 21 Apr 1808 to John Lightfoot JAMES.Culp Margaret T. JAMES died after 1850 in Mercer Co., KY. I only have four of her eight siblings. I am leaning toward an Armistead BROWN as William Ambrose's father, but I must prove that. Margaret Squires

According to land and census records John H Badger and his wife Nancy were living in Mercer Co KY from abt 1817 to 1822 or 23.Believe John H BADGER was my ggggrandmother LOUISANA BADGER,S brother.She was the wife of JOHN W HALE b1798 Mercer Co.John H Badger lived most of his life in Hickman Co Tn. I have visited there found the old Badger farm and family graveyard. Sigistmund and Nancy (Thompson) Scott did have a daughter named Elizabeth. She was born in abt 1824. Sometime between 1824 and 1830 the family moved from Mercer County, Kentucky to Lawrence County, Indiana. So I am not sure where she was born. The only information I have on her is that she married someone named Nelson. Were any VanArsdalls in Lawrence County, Indiana? Well, let me know if this helps.

Other members of the Hawkins family were Thomas's sisters: Catharine who married Benjamin Furnice Oct 26, 1830; Elizabeth who married Robert Coke April 3, 1832 andPhebe Chance who married William Jones Sept 3, 1834. Phebe's mother was Elizabeth Jones and she also may be the mother of Thomas A. Hawkins Thomas A. Hawkins also witnessed the marriage of Carter Bradswaw to Adaline Bradshaw on Nove. 27, 1827.

Looking for any connection to Elizabeth"Betsy"ISOM b. ca1775 VA. m. Hugh TURPIN b. 1775...they were married 26 mar 1795 Mercer Co.KY. After they were married they lived in Garrard Co.KY and Hugh died there 1825 and Elizabeth migrated to Sangamon Co.IL with most of her children and died there ca1860. Information I have says that Elizabeth's parents were: Charles ISOM/ISON & Peggy TAYLOR...they married ca1773 in Amhearst Co.VA.
