Was it John Figg s/o Robert Figg and Isabella Burton? Or his cousin John Figg s/o Richard Figg and Eliza Jane Stone?

I do believe Robert and Richard were brothers, making these two boys named John, first cousins. They were also very close in age, only about a years difference in their ages. Any help appreciated.

Another piece of the puzzle......another ancestor of mine, Mary "Polly" CANNON was a part of this Shaker community....I believe....an old McMurtry genealogy said she was very religious and even joined the Shakers at one time...have you come across anyone named Robert CANNON from the Conewago area? When I was checking York County, PA I found a John CANNONs will which named a Robert CANNON .... Robert was Mary's Father....

From a lookup in will abstracts:

York County, Pennsylvania

December 1 1769 June 9 1770
Cannon, John.
Executor: Thomas Cannon, Newberry Township
Wife Elizabeth Cannon
Children: Agnes, William , Samuel, Hannnah, Mary, Robert, Elizabeth, Jane and Thomas.

Mary "Polly" CANNON married John CHAMPION and their daughter, Ruth CHAMPION, married William McMURTRY. William's Father and Mother were James McMURTRY and Elizabeth LUCAS.....another connection!!!

Does any of this make any sense....maybe I should start checking out York County, PA a little more carefully for my CANNON and EBERLY families!!!!

If any of these names ring a bell, or if you want an outline on any of these families, let me know...glad to share and appreciate any help or further clues you might be able to give me!! Jan

George H. Blacketer served in Co K of the Civil War regiment 4th TN Cavalry (Union). He enlisted Feb 19, 1864, and stated at that time that he was age 18, b Mercer Co., KY. However, the 1850 Mercer Co census has a George BLACKKE age 4, which would make him 16 when he enlisted. Two other sons in that family, ADDISON and DAVID, both served in Co H of the 1st KY Cav. George H. died May 22, 1925 at Washington Co., KY. I have ordered his pension papers from the National Archives. Would be interested in any additional info about this soldier and his family.
