Sharon Tabor <fmlytracer@aol.com> Tue, 20 Mar 2001

From a letter shared from a cousin, Nancy's married name was Sanders. After months of frustration, I decided to follow the theory that Nancy traveled with her brother William Christopher Haines to IL to visit uncles and cousins after the death of his wife Eliza Richey. That is where he met and married his second wife Cynthia Thompson, then he must have returned to KY soon before or after the death of his father Samuel Haines.

There are two marriages given in Sangamon Co IL where the Haines and Pippin cousins migrated. Nancy married 1) a cousin Samuel Ashford in 1862 and 2) Franklin Sanders in 1866. I have not found her after the marriage to Sanders. Check out the Sangamon Co IL site at USGenWeb. Lots of information there.

I do not know of a Jess Brown born in Harrodsburg, KY. That is not saying much, since I don't have many of the descendants of my James Brown and Mary Matchett Brown (besides my direct line...). We have not determined where James and Mary resided before coming to Nelson/Hardin/LaRue Counties, KY. It is possible that they were in Mercer County, KY or that they owned land there also. James appears to have owned land in many counties in Ky.
