He died Thursday at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.
Born Jan. 31, 1935, in Stanford, he was a son of the late Annie Mae and Jim Henry Jones. He was a security guard for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Jones; two daughter, Patricia Newman of Pawtucket, R.I., and Theresa Jones of Stanford; one son, Jeffery Jones of Stanford; one brother, Ronald Jones of Boston, Mass.; one sister, Rosayln Hutchins of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Walker Shanks, Cloyd Smith, James Lee Alcorn, Tommy Logan, Richard Caldwell and Danny B. Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be June Christy, William Lackey, Henry Louis Brown, Edward Gooch, Clarence Brown, George Reid, Robert Brown, Robert Coulter, Boney Simpson and Charles Mucker.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church.

HARRODSBURG - Services for Nellie Lester, 91, Poplar Street, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home by the Revs. Paul Readnour and Terry Lester. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
She died Thursday at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born July 22, 1905, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late R.C. and Flora Bruner Bottoms and the widow of Z.A. Lester. She was an employee of Sportly Hall and a member of Cornishville Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Z.T. Lester of Frankfort, and R.C. Lester of Mercer County; four daughters, Marsola Baker, Loretta Baker and Hettie Logue, all of Mercer County, and Jewel Huffman of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Ava Elliott, and Ressie Bailey, both of Harrodsburg and Venetta Springate of Lexington; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy Baker, Tommy Logue, Don and Ronnie Huffman, David Driscoll, Tim, Terry and Todd Lester.
Honorary pallbearers are great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Saturday until time of service.

Born July 13, 1966, in Frankfort, she was a daughter of Dorothy Ann Hellard Sullivan of Slidell, Louisiana, and the late William Jenkins Kirkpatrick. She was an employee of Old Happy Days Diner in Harrodsburg and a member of Elkhorn Baptist Church in Frankfort.
Additional survivors include two sons, Paul Joseph Plefence of New Orleans and Charles Bret Hayden of Harrodsburg; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lee Kirkpatrick of Dayton, Ohio; maternal grandfather, James Ernest Hellard of Frankfort; two sisters, Sharon Elizabeth Adams and Michelle Dean Sarten, both of Slidell; two brothers, Clyde O. Fultz III of Slidell and David A. Fultz of Frankfort; and an uncle who was her caregiver, Ted M. Kirkpatrick of Harrodsburg.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. Friday until time of service.

HARRODSBURG - Warren G. Matherly, 76, of 746 Maple Ave. died Saturday at his residence.
Born Oct. 5, 1920, in Washington County, he was the son of Grace Simpson Matherly of Mackville and the late Raymond Matherly. He was a retired 36-year plant superintendent for Cudahy and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He belonged to Mackville Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include his wife, Berniese Sims Matherly; two sons, Michael D. Matherly and Warren Bennett Matherly, both of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Gerry Russell, Orene Matherly and Emmogene Matherly, all of Mackville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Henry Sims, Bruce Sims, Doyle Darland, Henry Combs, Marty Montgomery and Jerry Holiday.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. until time of the funeral Monday.

HARRODSBURG - Robert Brown Sims, 67, of 660 Providence Road, died Friday at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born June 7, 1929, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Guy Marshall and Maggie D. Foster Sims. He was a self-employed dairy farmer and a member of the MMI Dairy Cooperative. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and belonged to Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Sims; two sons, Robert Bruce Sims of Nashville and Delbert Stephen Sims of Mercer County; one brother, Marshall Foster Sims of Danville; one sister, Mary Kennon Drury of Harrodsburg; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Bethel Baptist Church by the Revs. John Cato and Jack Guerin. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Cemetery.

HARRODSBURG - A Harrodsburg man died Monday of injuries received in a one-vehicle crash at 9:31 p.m. Monday on the Bluegrass Parkway, 13 miles north of Springfield, state police said.
Driver Kirt T. McRay, 18, Harrodsburg, died at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington, of injuries suffered in the crash, a spokesman for the Fayette coroner's office said today.
Passenger Charles I. Berry, 28, also of Harrodsburg, was admitted to UK for treatment. Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to state police.
The accident occurred as McRay was traveling east on the Bluegrass Parkway, drifted into the median and struck a drain cover. The vehicle overturned, ejecting both men, and came to rest on its top, police said.
McRay is the son of Thomas and Vicki McRay of Harrodsburg.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Ransdell Funeral Home.

He died Monday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington, of injuries suffered in an automobile crash.
Born Nov. 20, 1978, in Mercer County, he was the son of Thomas and Vicki Drury McRay of Harrodsburg. He was a self-employed carpenter.
Additional survivors include a brother, Keith Emerson McRay of Mercer County; maternal grandparents, Calvin and Zelma Drury; and a special friend, Linda Cain of Mercer County.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Christopher Lay, Jason Ray Routin, Jason Shewmaker, Dale Richard Liskey, Franklin Scott Pierce and Greg Wayne Redmon.
Honorary pallbearers are Matt Adison Clark, Nick Risden, Phillip Roach, David Brandon Moeller, Coleman James and Chad Patterson.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Carey of Burgin; four brothers, William K. Woodward of Abingdon, Va., David Woodward of Marion, Va., Thomas D. Woodward of Roanoke, Va., and John H. Woodward of Halifax, Va.; two sisters, Helen Campbell and Mary Fields, both of Saltville; a grandchild and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Rex Woodward Patterson.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Geoff Barrett. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, William B. Howell Jr. of Lincolnshire, Ill.; two sisters, Doris Brown and Majorie Becker, both of Louisville; and five grandchildren.
Services were 10 a.m. today at St. Philips Episcopal Church by the Rev. William Faupel. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

He died Thursday at Harrodsburg Health Care Manor.
Born Oct. 27, 1917, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Arthur Raymond and Gertie Patterson Brown. He was the former owner and operator of Brown Gas and Electric Service. He also worked for Southern States Co-Op for a number of years.
He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 40 years, and he was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma McAnly Brown; two sons, Arthur Carroll Brown of Louisville and Bill Brown of Danville; two daughters, Rebecca Taylor of Harrodsburg and Pat Holland of Louisville; one brother, Arthur Lawrence Brown of Versailles; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Bobby Taylor, Bob Holland, Kevin Johnson, Tony Bohannon, Jon Holland and Bobby McAnly.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ann French Murphy; five sons, Daniel E., Earl, Tim, and Cliff Murphy, all of Harrodsburg, and Ed Murphy of Lexington; one daughter, Maedee Mills of Calhan, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. today at Spring Hill Cemetery by the Rev. David Upchurch. Visitation is until noon today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
Sons will serve as pallbearers.

She died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born June 15, 1932, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Will and Katie Dearing Click. She was a licensed practical nurse, formerly employed at Kentucky State Hospital. She was a member of Shakertown Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 359.
Survivors are her husband, W.H. Darland; a brother, Gene Click, Harrodsburg; three sisters, Pauline Harris and Katherine Russell, both of Burgin, and Sonia Currens, Salvisa.
Pallbearers will be William L. Currins, Barry Currins, William J. Currins, Mike Click, Mike Sheperson and Sonny Smyth.
Visitation is after 5 p.m today. OES service is 7 p.m today.

HARRODSBURG - A.R. Milby, 96, died Friday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 7, 1901, in Laurel County, he was the son of the late Theodore and Sarah Mulkey Milby. He was the widower of Ruby Sutton Walters Milby. He was the former owner of Milby Insurance Agency and a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder, treasurer and former trustee of several area Presbyterian churches. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Milby Gabhart of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Gordon Dean Milby. A graveside service will be held at noon Monday at Bellevue Cemetery by the Rev. John Duncan and John Jones. Visitation is after 7 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Presbyterian Child Welfare Agency or to Buckhorn Children's Foundation, One Buckhorn Lane, Buckhorn, Ky. 41721-9989.

HARRODSBURG - A graveside service for A.R. Milby, 96, of 337 Bacon Court, were held today at Bellevue Cemetery, Danville, by the Revs. John Duncan and John Jones.
He died Friday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Pallbearers will be William Curry, Tom I. Moore, Roy Riley, Andrew Alexander, Robert M. Milby, J.M. Tannon, James Smith and William Lively.
Honorary pallbearers are the Elders of New Providence Church and Royce McBeath.

Born Dec. 10, 1925, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Clara Mae Likins Steele. He was a retired yard jockey for LeeWay Motor Freight, Akron, Ohio. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, a member of Akron Baptist Temple and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Chloe Lucille Sallee Steele of Mercer County; a son, Clarence H. Steele Jr. of Lexington; three daughters, Therisa Ann Venore of Sylvania, Ohio, Evelyn Sue Baughman of Harrodsburg, Aimee Justine Popovich of Akron, Ohio; two brothers, Leonard Steele of Harrodsburg and Eugene Steele of Ohio; six sisters, Frances McCormick of Orlando, Fla., Annetta Mobley of Mercer County, Loretta Hammons of Edgewood, Margaret Hart of Lexington, Linda Hart of Prospect and Charlene Timm of Demark, Wisc.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Randsell Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Paul Readnour and Garry Allen. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Young, Tony Mobley, Paul Jones, B.R. Chilton, Scott Goodlett and Charles Parks.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today.
Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice or American Cancer Society.

HARRODSBURG - John "Jocko" Mattingly, 83, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday at Kentucky Veterans Center, Wilmore.
Born July 4, 1913, in Marion County, he was a son of John and Rosella Carico Mattingly. He was a former owner and operator of Jocko and Horace's Pool Hall, and the widower of Maggie Dee Wilham Mattingly. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and Glad Hand Sunday School Class. He was also a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include a brother, James S. Mattingly of Harrodsburg; and two sisters, Louise Taylor of Lexington and Mildred Anderson of Harrodsburg.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Home by the Revs. Robert Defoor and James Harley. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.
Pallbearers will be John Sullivan, Fred Anderson, Ralph "Pete " Anderson, J.W., John Albert, and Charles Alvin Mattingly, Keith and Terry Currens, David Shewmaker, Charles Hatcher and Charlie Carr.
Honorary pallbearers are the Glad Hand Sunday School Class.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.

Born Oct. 9, 1938, in Oregon, Ill., he was a son of the late Arlie and Dorothy May Tosh Ward. He was a former salesman for NFIB and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He attended Calvary Baptist Church and was a volunteer for Mercer County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Kirwin Lockwood; three sons, Richard Eugene Lockwood of Blacksburg, Va., James Michael Lockwood of San Jose, Calif., and Arlie Ray Lockwood of Mountville, Penn.; a brother, James Ward of Cumming, Ga., and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Arlie, Richard and James Lockwood, James Ward, Willie B. Horn and James A Ward. Honorary pallbearer is Frank Yount.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today and Saturday.

He died Monday at home.
Born Sept. 5, 1925, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Gus and Clarice Singleton Meaux. He was a self-employed farmer and a member of First Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 200 and VFW in Ashland. He was the widower of Flora Bell King Meaux.
Survivors include two brothers, Alonzo and Albert Meaux, both of Harrodsburg; a sister, Mary Thelma Parks of Harrodsburg; two grandsons, and a step grandson. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Ivan Meaux.
There will be no visitation.

Born Aug. 30, 1900, in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Mattie Yeast Carey. She was a homemaker, a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and Mercer County Senior Citizens. She was the widow of Ansel Leonard.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Vandivier of Mercer County; 10 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris and Steve Horn, Marshall and Jimmy Simpson, Dennis and Lawrence Thomas, and Michael Hatchel.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Walls Proctor; two daughters, Alissa Mae Proctor of South Carolina and Amanda Jane Proctor of Illinois; a stepson, Christopher Curtsinger, at home; a brother, Steve Proctor of Louisville; and a sister, Cindy McNally of Vine Grove.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by John Hockersmith III. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Garden.
