Services for Elbert Alonzo "Popeye" Gibson, 51, of 421 Haven St. were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Horton officiated and burial and military rites were in Burgin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Gibson died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, March 3 at the Veretans Administration Hospital in Lexington of an apparent heart attack.
Born Dec. 16, 1931 in Garrard County, he was the son of Lucy Horton Gibson of High Bridge and the late J.L. Gibson. He was a retired machine operator fo rthe 3M Company in Cincinnati, served with the U.S. Marines in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Holiness Church at High Bridge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wfie, Grace Lowry Gibson of Harrodsburg; two sons, Jimmy Gibson of Burgin and David Gibson of Harrodsburg; three step-sons, Ralph Hammons of Wilmore, Jack Hammons of Burgin and Bobby Hammons of Lexington; a step-daughter, Mrs. Jackie Satterly of Burgin; three brothers, James Gibson [rest of clipping missing]

Mrs. Annie E. Bugg Gibson, 76, of Perryville, died Friday, June 26, 1992 at Friendship House in Danville.

Born in Mercer County, Nov. 3, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Jordan and Martha Patterson Bugg.

She was an eployee of the Perryville Elementary School cafeteria and a former employee of Elmwood Inn in Perryville. She was a member of the Benton Baptist Church and the widow of Walter B. Gibson.

Survivors include two sons, Herbert Gibson of Springfield, and Neil Gibson of Perryville; five sisters, Luvina Gibson of Mercer County, Sally Wooldridge of Danville, Hattie Jane Bailey of Disburg and Josie Freeman of Lebanon; a brother, Bertie Bugg of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funreal services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 29, at the Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville.

Mr. Earl Gibson, 74, of 639 Greenwood Dr., died Wednesday, March 28, at 3:50 a.m. at the James B. Hagin Memorial Hospital.

Born August 7, 1915 in Perryville, he was the son of the late Victor and Mary B. Devine Gibson.

He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Army. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Gibson; two sons, Earl Kenneth Gibson of Cincinnati and Walter Daniel Gibson of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Judy Rose Gibson Roy, Liberty; one sister, Verdie Moore, Harrodsburg; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, March 30, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Members of the American Legion, Maurice Peavler, Emmitt Thompson, Kenneth Parker, James Claunch, Virgil Elliott, and Edwin Drury.

Mr. Raymond Dallas Gibson, age 73, of 228 South Magnolia Street, Harrodsburg, died at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, in the emergency room of the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born June 8, 1913 in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Victor and Mary Bell Divine Gibson.

He was a retired school bus driver for the Mercer County School System, was presently employed as a security guard at Shakertown at Pleasant Hill and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Myrtle Adkinson Gibson; two sons, Roger Gibson of Danville and Dennis Ray Gibson of Bradfordville, one Step-son, Lee Adkinson of Georgetown, Tx; five daughters, Joyce Day of Garrard County: Shelby Jean Bottom of Harrodsburg, Maggie Bunton of Versailles, Mildred Sharp of Garrard County and Linda Gibson of Perryville; one step-daughter, Janyce Brothers of Harrodsburg; one borther, Earl Gibson of Harrodsburg; one sister, Vertie Moore of Harrodsburg; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Gibson were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home .... (rest of obit missing).

Born April 25, 1901 in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Effie Lanham Carpenter and the widow of Everett Gibson.

She was a member of the Perryville Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Edna) Harberson of Perryville; two sons, Martin Lee Gibson of Perryville, and Oscar Gibson of Daytona Beach, Fl.; two brothers, Clarence Carpenter of Lebanon and Virgil Carpenter of Stanford; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Molen of Harrodsburg and Mrs. Clifton (Loverta) Chandler of Shepherdsville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Garland Ray Gibson.

Services for Mrs. Gibson were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville. The Rev. Chuck Bass officiated and burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church by the Rev. Joe Muench. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at McClellan Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

HARRODSBURG - Vonie Mae Cheak, 78, 126 N. Second St., Burgin, died Thursday at her residence.
Born June 12, 1918, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Omah Kurtz Yocum. She was the widow of William Hall Cheak. She was a retired employee of Cricketeer Manufacturing, a member of Burgin Baptist Church, and a member of the Burgin Baptist Church Young at Heart Senior Citizens. She was a 1936 graduate of Burgin High School.
Survivors include five sons, Melvin Lee Cheak of Lexington, Harry Thomas Cheak of Danville, Gerald David Cheak of Harrodsburg, and Richard Douglas Cheak and Robert Dudley Cheak, both of Burgin; a daughter, Martha Hall Watts of Nicholasville; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Joel Cheak.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Vest, Tom Cheak and Bob Cheak officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons William Morris Cheak, Jeffery Dale Cheak, Brian Thomas Cheak, Robert Daniel Cheak, Jeremy Todd Cheak and Troy David Cheak.

Born July 15, 1915, in Washington County, he was a son of the late Andy and Mamie Rousey Devine. He was a retired employee of Mercer Stone Company, an Army veteran of World War II and attended Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Pittman Devine; three sons, Billy Devine of Garrard County, Ralph Devine of Harrodsburg and Bobby Devine of Casey County; four daughters, Hazel Baker of Mercer County, Mary Preston of Danville, Violet Carey of Burgin and Mamie Carey of Garrard County; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Home by the Rev. Jay Gillum. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery.

HARRODSBURG - William Clifford Divine, 63, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Sunday in LaGrange.
Born Dec. 31, 1933, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late William A. and Margie Harmon Divine.
Survivors include two brothers, Sam Divine of Harrodsburg and Billy Divine of Sacramento, Calif.; three sisters, Lillian Long of Harrodsburg, Florence Hensley of Hebrom and Norma Keesecker of Mercer County.
There will be no visitation and no service.
Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MORELAND - Services for Ronnie Carey, 41, of Aspen Drive, Danville, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Lewis Smith. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
He died Monday at home.
Born Aug. 8, 1955, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Orville B. and Anna Terrell Carey. He was an employee of Hitachi Automotive, Harrodsburg.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Vanhook Carey; two daughters, Rhonda Braymer of Danville and Stephanie Carey, at home; four brothers, James Carey and Kenneth Carey, both of Moreland, Bobby Carey of Junction City and Alvie Carey of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven sisters, Evelyn Southerland and Bernice Peyton, both of Moreland, Dora Porter, Melvene Pike and Sheila Carey, all of Danville, Linda Maddox and Barbara Howard, both of Junction City; and a grandson.
Pallbearers will be Carl Watts, Billy Cannon, Billy Maddox, Lonnie and Johnny Goodin and Michael Wethington.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.

HARRODSBURG - Edwin Carroll Yeager, 57, Alford Road, Salvisa, died early Monday morning from a gunshot wound to the head.
Kentucky State Police are investigating the death as a suicide.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Ransdell Funeral Home.

HARRODSBURG - Services for Edwin Carroll Yeager, 57, North Main, Harrodsburg, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Ransdell Funeral Home by the Revs. James Harley and Raymond Offutt. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
He died Monday in Mercer County.
Born April 7, 1940, in Nelson County, he was a son of Marvin Haskell Yeager Sr. of Harrodsburg and the late Venie Mae Drury Yeager.
He was an employee of Square D Company, Lexington, a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and served on the executive board of IBEW Union 2220.
Additional survivors include his wife, Kellie Jean Flora Yeager; three sons, Timmy Yeager of Somerset, Travis and Jamie Yeager, both of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Lisa Dial of Lawrenceburg; two brothers, Larry Yeager and Marvin Yeager Jr., both of Mercer County; two sisters, Phyllis Hanlin of Salvisa, and Sandy Long of Mercer County; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be George Cox, Bill Merrill, Danny and Stevie Yeager, Billy Yocum, Dale Hanlin, Chad Crouch and Daniel Dial.
Honorary pallbearers are, Harold Goodlet, Chris Ross, Jack Elliott, and members of the executive board of IBEW Union.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials may go to Fellowship Baptist Church, Harrodsburg.

HARRODSBURG - Ezra Camden Weldon, 63, formerly of Mercer County, died Thursday at Columbia Suburban Hospital, Louisville.
He was in quality control at General Electric, served in the Marines during Korean War, was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and IUE Local 761.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Robinson Weldon, two daughters, Vickie Sue Catlett of Louisville and Rita Kaye Higdon of Greenbriar, Tenn.; two sons, Roy C. Weldon of Louisville and Ronald D. Weldon of Mt. Washington; a sister, Pauline Riley of Lawrenceburg; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Arch. L. Heady and Son Funeral Home, 8519 Preston Highway, Louisville.
A graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Cornishville Christian Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-9 p.m. today at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home.
Memorials may go to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

HARRODSBURG - Gilbert W. Carter, 88, of Hiseville, formerly of Mercer County, died Saturday at Sampson Community Hospital, Glasgow.
Born Sept. 4, 1908, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Lewis and Ora Mae Peavler Carter. He was a retired teacher, a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky College.
Survivors include his wife, Caroline Owens Carter; three sisters, Louise Dean of Harrodsburg, Gladys Berger of Ashland and Martha Carr of Florida.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert DeFoor. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Tuesday.
