HARRODSBURG - Services for Sidney Eugene Click, 69, of East Office Street, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Harrodsburg Christian Church by the Rev. David Hartman. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He died Wednesday at home.
Born June 2, 1928, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Will and Katie Dearing Click. He was a retired salesman for the former Boyle Block Company. He was a former member of Jessamine County Building Association and a member of St. John Masonic Lodge 125, and Oleika Shrine. He was the widower of Barbara Dickerson Click.
Survivors include a son, Michael E. Click of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Sherri Sheperson of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Sonia Currens of Salvisa and Pauline Harris of Mercer County; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be William and Barry Currins, Carl Taylor, Huston Barger, Bill Lester, Bill Brinkley, Bill Lawson and Sherman Hogue.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Goodwill Sunday School Class.
Visitation is after 3 p.m. with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may go to Harrodsburg Christian Church.

HARRODSBURG - Services for Ora Bugg, 78, of Mackville Road, will be at 4 p.m. today at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by James Harley. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
She died Thursday at Shelby Manor Health Center in Shelbyville.
Born Oct. 9, 1918, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Srialda Pulliam Bugg. She was an avid singer.
Survivors include one brother, Charles Bugg Jr. of Mercer County; and two sisters, Lillie Robinson of Mercer County and Betty Camic of Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers will be Roy Bugg, Kelly Bugg, Lawrence Proctor, Ron Proctor, Roger Gibson and William Arvin Burton.
Visitation will be 7 a.m. today until time of the service.

HARRODSBURG - Services for Thurman Gritton, 81, of Willisburg will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Ransdall Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Jack Guerin and John Cato. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
He died Friday at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 19, 1915, in Washington County, he was the son of Stattie Pearl Robinson Gritton of Harrodsburg and the late Min Gritton. He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He belonged to Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include his wife, Lillie Mae Cornish Gritton; one daughter, Freeda Ann Moore of Cincinnati; and one brother, Harold Gritton of Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Gritton, Curtis Sherrow, Scott Morrison, Brent Steel, Bill Rawlings, Kenneth Sanders and Billy Colvin.
Visitation will be prior to the service.

Born Dec. 28, 1926, in Indianapolis, Ind., he was a son of the late Ray and Ethel Amos Guthrie. He was owner and sales representative for Guthrie and Associates, was a member of Millersville Lodge, Indianapolis, was a member of Eastern Star Harrodsburg Chapter 309. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a deacon at Burgin Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Howard Guthrie; four daughters, Barbara Alsup of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Donna Rhodus of Lexington, Debbie Smith of Burgin and Cathy Palmer of Harrodsburg; a sister, Joan Heapes of Livingston, Mont.; seven grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home by the Rev. Mark Caldwell-Reiss. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Saturday and after 7 a.m. Sunday.

Born July 4, 1918, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Minor and Alma Campbell Ransdell. She was a 1940 graduate of Centre College, a member of Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church and was co-owner of Beaumont Inn with her husband Thomas Curry ``Bud'' Dedman Jr.
Besides her husband, survivors include five children, Dr. Thomas C. Dedman III, Libby D. Young and Anne D. Hunt, all of Louisville, Dr. Nick G. Dedman and Charles M. ``Chuck'' Dedman, both of Harrodsburg; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Leslie Rust. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at McClellan Funeral Home and after noon Wednesday at the church.

Other survivors include three brothers, Wilbur Hudson of Kenderville, Ind., Oliver Conley of Danville and Leo Conley of Mercer County; two sisters, Vedra Hall of Collinsville and Juanita Ritchie of Indiana.
Graveside services were scheduled for 12:30 p.m. today at Spring Hill Cemetery by the Rev. James Harley. There will be no visitation.

Survivors include five sons, Donnie Beasley and Byford Beasley, both of DeKalb, Roger Beasley, Jerry Beasley and David Beasley, all of Henry County; three sisters, Margie Holiday of Sycamore, Ill., Lora Bailey of Harrodsburg, and Vertie Lambert of Louisville; 21 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy, Kenny, Kevin, Ronnie, Danny and Mark Beasley, Johnnie Bailey and Billy Hatfield.

Born Jan. 5, 1938, in Mayo, she was a daughter of the late Lucille Walker Jones and Samuel Jones Sr. She was a domestic housekeeper and formerly an aide for Head Start. She attended West Side and Harrodsburg high schools. She also was a member of Centennial Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board, a member of the Senior Choir and was a church custodian.
Survivors include five sons, Thomas Jones, Deron Jones, Josh Vaughn, Craig Vaughn and Chad Vaughn, all of Harrodsburg; four daughters, Sabrina Richardson of Danville, Kim Jones of Indianapolis, Ind., Beverly Jones of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Gelonda Zipper of Louisville; three brothers, Jack Jones of Indianapolis, Scott and Kenneth Jones of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren. She was preceded by a son, Alvin Vaughn.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Centennial Baptist Church by the Rev. J.D. Short III. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Parks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
Pallbearers are Scott Bugg, William Fields, Alvis Johnson, Dennis Johnson, John Smith and Jesse Thomas Jr.

Survivors include three sons, Carol Broce Jr. of Lawrenceburg, Steven Broce and John Broce, both of Stanford; four sisters, Thula May Clark of W.V., Linda Patterson and Priscilla Blacketer, both of Harrodsburg, and Wanda Bullock of McKinney; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Ebenezer Church of Christ Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Ingram Dearing; three daughters, Janice Lynn Dearing of Harrodsburg, Mary Lee Bush of Bowling Green and Wanda D. Whitehouse of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons, Tony D. Dearing and William G. Dearing Jr., both of Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dearing.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

HARRODSBURG - Services for William Grover Dearing, 65, of North Greenville Street, will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home by the Revs. James Harley and Mark Baldauff. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Tyler, Rick Moberly, W.C. Chambers, Darrell Dearing, Gary Dearing, Jamie Pierce, Lewis Carey and Dale Ammons.
Honorary pallbearers are Hank Judge, Jimmy Carey, J.W. Mattingly, Aaron Bruner, J.T. Logue, Brad Whitehouse, James Whitehouse and Billy Pierce.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Saturday.

HARRODSBURG - Juanita Hurst Satterly, 64, of 1239 Hopewell Road died Friday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born August 23, 1933, in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Gladys Sadler Hurst and the widow of Paul Sea Satterly Sr. She was a retired employee of Eastern State Hospital and a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church. She donated land to the Terrapin-Dugansville Fire Department for construction of a fire station.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Ann Thornton and Billie Jean Moore, both of Mercer County; a son, Paul Sea Satterly Jr. of Mercer County; a sister, Linda Stratton of Harrodsburg; three brothers, John E. Stratton, James K. Stratton and Robert K. Stratton, all of Harrodsburg; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home by Jack Geurin. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fannie Kelly Parsons, 72, died at 7:30 thursday morning, January 13, 1938 at her home in Hopewell, death being due to complications. She was the daughter of Harvey and Sarah Bishop Kelly and the widow of Burford Parsons, who died several years ago. Mrs. Parsons, when a young girl united with the Hopewell Baptist church, being a devoted Christian who attended church regularly as long as her health permitted. She is survived by a son, Wesley Parsons, and a daughter, Mrs. Dorastus Dickerson, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, R.V. and Sandy Kelly, all of Mercer county, and Shelby Kelly of Louisville, and one half-brother, James Kelly of Oklahoma. Mrs. Parsons’ funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church and burial in the Hopewell cemetery.

Mr. George W. Kelly, aged 73 years, died Monday, March 13, 1933 at 11:45 at his home on Mackville Street. He had been ill for the past week with double pneumonia. He was the son of Harvey and Sarah (Bishop) Kelly. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children, Mrs. R. L. Parsons, Mrs. Holley Gillespie, Mrs. W. N. Hoffman, Mrs. M. E. McCloskey, and Leonard Kelly of Louisville; Granville Kelly of Danville; Ada and Wesley Kelly of Harrodsburg. Seven grandchildren and the following brothers and a sister, S. O. Kelly, R. V. Kelly, Sandy Kelly and Mrs. Fannie Parsons, all of Mercer County and a half-brother, James Kelly, of Oklahoma. His funeral was held at the Hopewell Baptist Church, of which he had been a member since 1888, on Wednesday at 2 o'clock, with burial in the Hopewell Cemetery. Services by Rev. W. D. Moore, and Rev. Whitcomb Ellers. Bearers were his nephews, J. W. Parsons, Delbert Parsons, James Parsons, Verner Sanders of Mercer county; Byford Parsons of Louisville; Preston Parsons of Cincinnati.[ from: The Harrodsburg Herald issue of March 17, 1933]

Funeral services were held at 2:30p.m. Tuesday, Oct 11, 1949 at Hopewell Baptist church for Mr. John E. Bishop, 83 who died at his home on West Broadway, Sunday October 9, at 6 pm. He was a native of Mercer County born September 29, 1866, the son of the late George L. and Nancy Jane [Kelly] Bishop. He was the widower of Mrs. Nannie Weaver Bishop who died about 20 years ago. He was a retired farmer and member of the Woodford County Baptist Church. Officiating at the funeral services, in charge of Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home was the Rev. H.O. Nicely, paster at Hopewell. Buriel was in Hopewell Cemetery with George Omar Bishop, Howard Bishop, George O. Moore, Eulas Moore, Otha Currens and Curtis Currens as bearers. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Rena Knott, Mrs. Lincoln Grimes, Mrs. Pearl Wilson and Miss Eva Bishop, all of Peru, Ind. and two sons Deva B. Bishop and Everett Bishop also of Peru, 22 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. There are also four brothers: J.O. Bishop, George L and Governor L. Bishop of Harrodsburg and Henry E. Mrs. Mary L. Roach died Saturday, March 5, 1906 of pneumonia, after an illness of but two days. She was taken sick at her farm near Harrodsburg, where she had been living for several months past, but the remains were brought here to the home of her son, Judge Ben F. Roach. The funeral took place at the Christian church Monday morning at 10:30, conducted by Dr. M. G. Buckner, and she was laid to rest in Springhill Cemetery, beside her husband, the late Dr. William Hughes Roach. The pall-bearers were Mr. James Wilson, Mr. W. J. Poteet, Col. Ben Lee Hardin and Mr. Paul Bell. Mrs. Roach was 70 years of age and was Miss Mary Louise Connor before her marriage. Beside an only child, Judge B. F. Roach, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Thomas C. Bell, of this place. and Mrs. Bettie Kennedy, of Lawrenceburg, who, with her daughter, Mr. Thomas Bond, was here to attend the funeral [from: The Harrodsburg Herald issue of March 8, 1906]

Mr. George Bishop, a well known and respected citizen of the Mayo section [of Mercer Co., Ky], died very suddenly Sunday, September 17, 1916 about 5 o'clock. He had been a sufferer for a long time from heart trouble, but his unexpected going away was a shock to his friends. He was 77 years of age and a native of this county, having resided near Mayo since boyhood. His wife passed away 31 years ago, but he is survived by a large family of children. The funeral was held at Hopewell by Rev. W. D. Moore, and he was laid to rest in the Hopewell Cemetery there under a pall of lavender and white flowers and ferns. The nine children whom he leaves are Misses Sallie and Rose Bishop, George and Leslie Bishop of Mayo; John Bishop of Tyrone; Henry Bishop of Ludlow; J. O. Bishop, of Harrodsburg; Mrs. Jennie Holman, of Salvisa, and Mrs. Noah Crawford, of Ghent. 24 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren also survive him, as well as a brother and sister. Col. Thomas Clelland Bell, died at his home on Lexington Ave. in Harrodsburg on Friday, Feb. 1, 1901 as the clock was striking the hour of 6 pm. For many years he had been a sufferer from diabetes, and about ten days before his death he contracted pneumonia, which hastened his demise. Col. T.C. Bell was a son of John B. and Phoebe Durr Bell, and was born in Mercer county, near the Anderson line, on the 29th of August, 1838. He received his education in the county schools of the day, and afterwards taught for several years in both Mercer and Anderson counties. Later he studied law and years ago was admitted to the Mercer Bar. During President Cleveland's first administration he was Assistant District Attorney and while holding that office resided in Louisville, On the 15th of September 1859, he was married to Miss Sarah M. Connor, of Salvisa, who survives with their five children: Paul E. Bell, teller in the Mercer National Bank, Mrs. Annie B. Goddard, widow of Nick Goddard; William Connor Bell, member of the Mercer Bar; Attorney R. B. Bell, of Louisville, and Miss Nantie Wilson Bell, of Harrodsburg. Col. Bell was an active member of the Baptist church, and his funeral was preached at the church here Sunday, by the pastor, Rev. J.B. Williams, assisted by Dr. W. P. Harvey, of Louisville. Montgomery Lodge, I.O.O.F. had charge of the burial which took place in Springhill Cemetery. [from: The Harrodsburg Sayings of February 7, 1901]

DIED: On tuesday the 3rd instant [03 Apr 1860] of Typhoid Fever, Benjamin F. Roach at the residence of his father, Joseph B. Roach near Salvisa, in his 21st year. During his short illness of 14 days he bore his sufferings against the hand of Providence. He retained his sences to the last. About 6 o'clock in the morning he breathed his last.
