Boston DAMEWOOD, a Rev. War Veteran from Virginia came to serve in Kentucky Mounted Volenteers under John Cladwell's Battalion, he settled in MercerCo. and paid taxes for 3 horses and 12 cattle in 1795, also was seen in court indentures with wife Mary in that year. He lated moved to Green and Christian Co. Ky and finally to Rutherford Co. Tenn where he received a pension for his Rev. War service at age 81, being born in 1751 in Virginia. Seeking any descendants, he may have had several sons and daughters. Henry and Malachi Damewood are two possibilities.

George Wilson married Polly Mitchell in 1786 in Mercer Co. George was the son of Henry Wilson Sr. (ca. 1727-ca. 1820). Henry Wilson Sr. founded Wilson's Station southwest of Harrodsburg in 1775. In about 1791, Henry Wilson Sr. & sons, Henry Jr. (md. Frankie Faulkner), George, & others moved to the Cane Ridge community in Bourbon Co., Ky. Polly died there in 1803 at the age of 37. George Wilson died there in 1813. I am descended from George & Polly's son, John Mitchell Wilson, who died in 1823 in Lincoln Co., Mo. I am trying to determine who Polly (Mitchell) Wilson's parents were.

My grandfather, Dr. Joseph Franklin Williams, Sr was in Frankford,Mercer Co Ky as early as 1896. He was a Baptist Minister there. I have the name of the church which lists all the ministers who served there to a time-it was a Memorial issue of their paper. My father was born in Frankford,Mercer Co Ky. 16 Oct 1898. and his younger brother 4 July 1901. Can anyone help me? Thank you ,Sally Black

I am sorry I made a mistake in the previous query- My Williams family resided Harrodsburg Mercer Co. Ky not Frankford(even that is in error) it should rea Frankfort shouldn't it- I didn't know where to make a correction. Is there anyway-or should I just repeat here? My grandfther Dr. Joseph Frankllin Williams,Sr DD was a Baptist Minister in Harrodsburg, Mercer Co Kyl before 1897/ His first son and third child was b 16 Oct 1898. and name Joseph Franklin Williams, Jr. another son John Ducker Williams was b 4 July 1901-(must have been fireworks at least that birth!) I am searching for information on GEORGE BAST, one of the first trustees of The Danville Academy in 1817, when Danville was located in Mercer County. He was also in Mercer County in March, 1823, when the trustees of the Danville Academy apparently gave the money collected for the Danville Academy over to the Trustees of Centre College. I believe this George BAST may be the son or grandson of JOHANNES BAST, who left Pennsylvania about 1754 and settled in what is now Cabarrus County, North Carolina.
