SCOMP, Dr. Henry A Surnames: SCOMP, SMOCK #00733 Robert Stewart <stewartr@csi.com> Sat, 12 Sep 1998 Homepage: Descendants of Hendrick Matthyse Smock (10 generations) Hello. I'm looking for clues on this Dr. Henry A. Scomp. Apparently he was a researcher on the Smock family. I've just today figured out that I am descended from one Tiney Scomp and Matthew Smock, and I'd like to learn more about the Scomp's. The daugher (I believe) of Tiney and Matthew, Sarah Ann Smock, b. 1812 in KY, married in IN, named her second son Henry Skomp Stalcup. The first son was named after grandpa Stalcup.
So, I'd like to learn what Dr. Henry A. Scomp knew, or what anyone knows for that matter, about this Tiney Scomp, and Scomp-Smock connections in general. (Schamp works for me too. ;)
Oh yes, Scomp's were/are present in Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky. Matthew and Tiney married in Mercer County but moved to Indiana, where Sarah met a boy in a neighboring county, Greene, and married.
Thanks in advance!
Robert

Rollan Allen Surnames: ALLEN, LARSON, NADLER #00736 Matt Bohn <mmbohn@tardis.svsu.edu> Mon, 14 Sep 1998 I am looking for any information about a Rollan Allen who died in Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky on September 12, 1975. I am trying to discern whether or not he is the same Rollan Allen who was married to my grandpa's cousin Alma Nadler in Hemlock, Michigan in 1937. Alma died mysteriously (some say Rollan pushed her down the basement steps and killed her) in 1952. He married Winifred Larson a few months after Alma's death. Shortly after that Rollan and Winifred moved away and were never heard from again. The Social Security Death Index and the Mercer County Death records (Volume 75, certificate 23066) record a Rollan Allen who would have been about the right age (born in 1888) as dying there in 1975. I was wondering if anyone has any info on him or would be able to look up his obituary to see whether or not it was the same one (if he is survived by a wife Winifred this would be a sure sign that it's the right Rollan Allen). If anyone could help it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Top | Surname Index | Researchers Page | 'Every Word' Search | Archived Data | Home
