Kaze Keys Kays Parker

David T. Bradford <kylawyer@home.com> Tue, 13 Apr 1999
Looking for info re: ancestry of my G-Gmother Lula Nelson KAZE (b. Mercer Co. Feb. 6 1889). As I understand it her parents were George Jesse KAZE (b. Apr. 3 1870) who married Sarah Elizabeth PARKER (May 4 1870 - Aug 15 1941) on Sept. 30 1887. I know that Sarah's father was James Parker who was one of Morgan's Raiders, but can't trace Kaze line back. I note that the 1850 Census of Mercer Co. mentions a Nelson KEYS and feel that due to similarity of names there must be a connection, but confused because he was 52 in that census and had only one child at home, a 16 yr. old daughter named Ann. Need help!

Claudia Denton <ymaraner@aol.com> Sat, 24 Apr 1999
Searching for clues and I was wondering if anyone could help me with some information on the Lake family mentioned on the Mercer Co. 1850 census. I'm interested in the John Lake who is the son of Lucinda Lake.
I am trying to trace a John Lake who migrated to Washington Co. Indiana from Kentucky according to the 1860 census. He was married to Margaret Vorce. There is a Voris family near the Lake family on the 1850 Mercer Co. census and they have a daughter named Margaret.
My John Lake eventually settled in Jasper Co. IL and there is a Lucinda Lake buried near him.
Does anyone know if the some of the Mercer Co. Lakes moved on to IN? Thanks.
