"Booten" Whitaker Cabin

The "Booten" Whitaker cabin came from Birch Branch of Burning Fork here in Magoffin County.  The cabin is a story and a half and was built before 1860 of poplar logs.  The period furniture was donated by Todd Preston and family, and depicts heirlooms of the Preston and Prater families.  Some of the items are grandmother Ida (Walker) Preston's sewing machine, father Curt Preston's rocking chair, mother Mollie (Helton) Preston's chest of drawers with mirror, wife Phyllis (Prater) Preston's Magoffin County Flag, among various other articles.
