CJ Waller (CWaller914@aol.com) 501 Moorpark Way #55, Mt, View, CA 94041 -- DAVIS
I am researching the Davis family, IGNATIOUS DAVIS was listed as having a will in the county clerks office, Will Book A 1797-1812 page 120. Dated 13, May 1801. His wife is listed as MARY DAVIS, children: DAVID, JOSEPH, LUKE, ASA, JOHN, and daughters NANCY, MARY, DORCUS,. this was witnessed by JOHN WHITECRAFT and ELIZABETH BROWN. This Davis family possibly from Maryland, migrating through Virginia. When the will was produced in court in 1803 two other Browns were named as witnesses ANDREW BROWN and JAMES BROWN. No married last names of females were mentioned in will. I am interested in any connections to any of these names.

Elise M. Breen (embreen@cord.iupui.edu) -- Multiple
Seeking information on the history of the naming of Menifee county. I have relatives who migrated from KY to Indiana in first two decades of 1800s (before Menifee county was formed). Their name is MENIFEE. Am having difficulty tracing this line -- can anyone help? Most of the MENIFEEs in my line moved to Decatur County, IN -- not sure if any stayed behind in KY. There were lots of MENIFEE daughters who married men named PLEAK / PLEAKENSTALVER / PLAKE / PLEAKE (all variations of same family name), MEEKS / MEAKS and SHIELDS. The Pleaks and Meekses also once lived in KY and I would be interested in information pertaining to any of them, as well. PLEAK would be associated with Montgomery County region of Menifee County.

Seeking information on Johann B. PLEAKENSTALVER (aka/ John B. PLEAK) who came to Bryan's Station in Scott County, KY and probably died there. He is listed on rolls at Boonesborough, as well. He was married at least once to Hester or Esther WADE, and possibly also to Phoebe Ann COONS. Suspect he may have come out from Virginia as widower of Esther WADE with some of her brothers (WADEs) and son(s), nephew(s) or younger brother(s), then re-married to Phoebe Ann COONS, possibly having more children, including Fielding & Dawson PLEAK. Fielding PLEAK left for Decatur County, IN in early 1820s, not sure what happened to other PLEAKs, (including 3 daughters), except that a third brother was killed by the Indians. Other KY relatives associated with this line include MEEKS/MEAKS and MENIFEE, associated with Montgomery County, KY, Menifee County, KY and, possibly Clark County, KY. [N.B.: Family narrative given above is purely speculative, at this time.]

Lee Zeitelhack (Zeitelhack@aol.com) -- GOODPASTER, GREEN, RIDDLE, RAZOR, JONES, RALLS
I am searching these families in Rowan, Bath, Montgomery, Morgan, Menifee, and Fleming counties. My grandfather, Fred Vern GREANE, was born in Salt Lick, but his parents lived in Farmers and around Midland. His father was George Thomas GREANE (GREEN, GREENE) son of William S. GREEN and Nancy Vernetta (nettie) JONES. His mother was Annie GOODPASTER, I think she may have been a daughter of James GOODPASTER and Henrietta RIDDLE. George and Annie were divorced in 1903. Annie remarried later and had sons. She was widowed by 1930 and may have moved to Ohio or Indiana in the 1930s. Her husband may have been named SPENCE. I am looking especially for death records for WILLIAM S. AND NETTIE GREEN. William had a brother named George. I have extensive data on the GOODPASTER line and several others and would be glad to share.
