Mike Shulse ( -- SHULTZ
My ggg grandfather Henry Shultz and family came to Mo.(Ralls Co.) in 1840 from Nicholas and Montgomery Cos. Ky. One of his sons , Peter Shulse married a second cousin from Nicholas Co. Evaline Shulse. She was a Shulse before she married him. As you can imagine, this has been very confusing. They may have been connected with "Dunkards" or German Baptist Brethren. We feel certain that they came out of N. C. into Ky. as the 1880 census for Ralls Co. Mo. indicated Peter stated his father was born in N. C.

Bill LaBach ( - ANDERSON
I am searching for the parents and siblings of John Anderson (1760-1826) who was a farmer on Lulbegrud Creek and who married Mary Robeson [also spelled Robinson and Robertson] (1772-1847). His children were named James Robeson Anderson, John Fowler Anderson, Matthew William Anderson, George W. Anderson, Ann Anderson, Margaret (Peggy) Anderson and Robert Smith Perry Anderson. His marriage must have been about 1798 (no record) as his first child was born in 1799. He is buried in an old family cemetery on Levee Road. I would like to locate this. I don't even know what road is referred to as Levee Road. I suspect (don't know) he may have come from Mercer County and was not the first generation of his family in Kentucky. A William Anderson was appointed to appraise the estate of James Robeson, deceased, in Lincoln County in the 1780's [Mercer was formed from Lincoln]. Another James Robeson's Will was probated in Mercer Co. in 1792 and mentioned a daughter, Mary. I can't actually connect these families based on what I know now. My decent is through George W. Anderson (1810-59) who moved to Jackson County, Missouri in 1836. Also researching HINDS, McCLELLAND, and STEWART. Bill [William Anderson] LaBach in Lexington, Kentucky.

I am looking for any info on my gggrandfather Daniel Riffet (Reffit). He was born in Montgomery Co., Ky and married Magdelina Ealoy from Tennessee and moved to Brazil (Clay County) Indiana He was born circa 1815. They had several children all born in Indiana. Daniel was on Indian Census records from 1830 thru 1860. He then dissappeared and in 1870 records Magdelina was remarried to someone else. I am assuming he was probably killed in the Civil War. Any information on this surname would be greatly appreciated.

Lee Zeitelhack ( -- Multiple
GOODPASTER, GREEN, RIDDLE, RAZOR, JONES, RALLS - I am searching these families in Rowan, Bath, Montgomery, Morgan, Menifee, and Fleming counties. My grandfather, Fred Vern GREANE, was born in Salt Lick, but his parents lived in Farmers and around Midland. His father was George Thomas GREANE (GREEN, GREENE) son of William S. GREEN and Nancy Vernetta (Nettie) JONES. His mother was Annie GOODPASTER, I think she may have been a daughter of James GOODPASTER and Henrietta RIDDLE. George and Annie were divorced in 1903. Annie remarried later and had sons. She was widowed by 1930 and may have moved to Ohio or Indiana in the 1930s. Her husband may have been named SPENCE. I am looking especially for death records for WILLIAM S. AND NETTIE GREEN. William had a brother named George. I have extensive data on the GOODPASTER line and several others and would be glad to share.

Seeking information on Johann B. PLEAKENSTALVER (aka/ John B. PLEAK) who came to Bryan's Station in Scott County, KY and probably died there. He is listed on rolls at Boonesborough, as well. He was married at least once to Hester or Esther WADE, and possibly also to Phoebe Ann COONS. Suspect he may have come out from Virginia as widower of Esther WADE with some of her brothers (WADEs) and son(s), nephew(s) or younger brother(s), then re-married to Phoebe Ann COONS, possibly having more children, including Fielding & Dawson PLEAK. Fielding PLEAK left for Decatur County, IN in early 1820s, not sure what happened to other PLEAKs, (including 3 daughters), except that a third brother was killed by the Indians. Other KY relatives associated with this line include MEEKS/MEAKS and MENIFEE, associated with Montgomery County, KY, Menifee County, KY and, possibly Clark County, KY. [N.B.: Family narrative given above is purely speculative, at this time.]
Item entered 3/8/97.

Seeking information on the history of the naming of Menifee county. I have relatives who migrated from KY to Indiana in first two decades of 1800s (before Menifee county was formed). Their name is MENIFEE. Am having difficulty tracing this line -- can anyone help? Most of the MENIFEEs in my line moved to Decatur County, IN -- not sure if any stayed behind in KY. There were lots of MENIFEE daughters who married men named PLEAK / PLEAKENSTALVER / PLAKE / PLEAKE (all variations of same family name), MEEKS / MEAKS and SHIELDS. The Pleaks and Meekses also once lived in KY and I would be interested in information pertaining to any of them, as well. PLEAK would be associated with Montgomery County region of Menifee County.
