My husband Donald Abner and his sister Edna C. VanBenthuysen (nee Abner) were born in Montgomery county as were, I think their parents, Ollie Dee (Willoughby) Abner and Stanley Abner. Names I am researching are Willoughby and Abner. I have very limited information so will appreciate any help and will be glad to share what I have. Thank you.

WRIGHT--- Meredith Wright was born in KY in 1805 and died in Montgomery County ca 1852. He first appeared in Montgomery records in 1828 when he purchased items from an estate sale. He may have been a son or nephew of Meredith WRIGHT of Bourbon and Jessamine Counties. He married Sarah CALBRAITH, dau John and Eleanor DAVIS about 1828. They had several children, among them Mariam BOONE WRIGHT, named for her aunt Mariam Boone Calbraith OREAR. Meredith may have been half Indian as his dau Mariam was known to be 1/4 Indian. Any info about any of these people appreciated. Also have much to share.

John W. Anderson (JWAnderson-97@worldnet.att.net) -- ANDERSON
Searching for parents of Franklin Anderson b: May 14,1827 in Va., m: 1849 in Owsley County, d: Aug. 14,1898 in Jackson County. Wife was Jane nee Anderson b: March 18, 1832 in Perry County, d: July 9, 1920 in Breathitt County. I have some family information indicating Franklin's father was James Anderson and his grandfather was Presley Anderson who was in Montgomery and Bath Counties until 1813. I have not been able to connect Presley and James with Franklin. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information on BABER, LEACH, BLACKWELL, LEAP.... William Godbey BABER (b 8/16/1882 - d 2/18/79) marr Phoebe Ellen Blackwell (b. 3/17/1857?? - d ??). For as long as anyone can remember, they resided in Mt Sterling, Ky. Both were supposedly born within miles of Mt Sterling, but I have no firm documentation. Any help is appreciated! I'm looking for any information about a David Wilson who I believe lived in Montgomery Co. about 1805-1815. Had sons Joseph and probably John and David. I suspect they were living close to the James Armstrong family. Any thing would be a help.

I am researching the LOONEY name. Specifically Michael Frances Looney (my g grandfather) who died in 1936 in Louisville. His death certificate states that he was buried in Mount Sterling, Montgomery County, KY. Since I live some distance from there, I have not had the chance to go to search for his burial site. Does anyone in the Mount Sterling area know anything about Looneys in that area. He was married to Annie Dailey. Please email me if you have any info on them.

Mary Ann Bolton (ljm@bewellnet.com) -- FORBES
Would like to know if the Hugh FORBES of Mt. Sterling with a Montgomery County Will Book A (1797-March 1813) entry on page 210, Inventory on page 219 and Settlement on page 268, 452, 462? is related to my G Grandfather Hugh FORBES who was in KY in 1835 when his daughter Nancy E. was born. Nancy had a witness at her wedding named Isaac (Brother?) in 1849 in Laurel County, KY. I haven't seen the Will Book, just a reference to it at the Denver Public Library. Seeking information on the Matthias MOUNTS/MOUNCE family that migrated from Bedford County, VA to KY and settled in the Dix River area about 1780. Probably found in Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, and Garrard Counties. Matthias was accidentally killed 10 Feb. 1781. His wife was Mary. Children: Matthias, John, Elizabeth, Mary, Henry, James Smith, Celia, Rachel born 1752-1780. Elizabeth married David Finley; Mary married Moses Collier. Left many court papers over the estate of Matthias, Sr. in Montgomery County, KY.

Looking for info on Daniel Williams also known as "Elder" Daniel Williams. Born 1763 to Thomas Edward & Mary Lydia Emory in N.C. Married Violet Couch 1788 in Boonesborough KY. Died 7/3/1820 Caney KY. Approx 1804 entered what is now known as Morgan Cty at Wells Mill now known as West Liberty. He also lived in Montgomery Cty where he helped establish Lulbegrud Church 1793. Early 1800 established 11 Baptist churches. Fought in Battle of Blue Licks in Revolutionary War as well as with Daniel Boone. One son John T. was appointed by Gov Adair 1822 to start proceedings to form Morgan Cty. Another son Wiley was Morgan's 1st state rep. A memorial to Daniel is in Caney Ky. Working backwards in lineage in hopes of finding infor on parents, g parents, etc. This a possible line to Mayflower passenger. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
