Scott Oldfields is erecting a new store house on the south side of the creek from Charleston.


Joseph Cundiff and wife were the guests of Harlin Ferguson Sunday.

Gilbert Ratliff has bought 30 acres of land of Proctor Elam on the Isaac Elam branch and will build a house and move to it.


Mrs. Scrilda Short who has been in Menifee county for the last 12 month returned Saturday.

Buford Murphy and wife of Murphy Fork visited A.J. Couch and wife Saturday and Sunday.


Married Jan. 28 at the residence of the bride parents A.B. Lovelace and wife, their daughter Miss Golden, to Rollie Carpenter, of Pekin, Rev. J. H. Fugate tieing the knot.

Alvin Perry moved to Mort Perry`s farm near Omer last Thursday.


Maggie Perry died Jan. 18 and was burried at the Perry grave yard near Mussell Shoal the 19. She was 13 years old, and was the youngest child of Nelson and Louisa Perry.


Ray Rowland of Maytown was in this vicinity Monday and Tuesday.


Brack Cox and Asa Murphy passed through here last Friday with a nice bunch of shoats.


Miss Myrtle Ratliff returned home Tuesday from Omer where she has been visiting her brother J.T. Ratliff for some time.


Charley fanning a prominent young man of this place and Miss Ada Byrd of Grassy Creek were married Jan. 26. We extend them congratulations and best wishes.

Misses May and Goldie Wheeler and Wellington Fraley came home from school Friday, and will go back after a short stay.


Escal Holbrook is reported low with fever.


Rev. Mobeda Keeton has sold his farm to a Mr. Luster, of Johnson Co. Bob Keeton has been a resident here for a number of years, and besides being recognized as a christian and an able exponent of the doctrine of Christ, he has won the confidence and admiration of his neighbors. Wherever he may take up his abode we take pleasure in recommending him, without reserve.


Married Jan. 21 at the home of brides parents, Alonzo Pelfrey and Miss Carma Caskey, Rev. R.H. Ferguson officiating. The groom is a son of J. Wiley Pelfrey a leading merchant. The bride is a daughter of G.W. Caskey.
