I.H. Rowland and wife visited relatives at Mima, Saturday and Sunday.
S.H. Byrd returned home, Friday from Caney, where he has been visiting relatives
for two weeks.
Ches Lewis, who has been very low with fever, is some better.
W.M. Lewis and Cash Wheeler went to Menifee on business Saturday.
D.F. Fugate branded ties here last week.
Sterla Fugate and Myrtie Ratliff were married Feb. 15th.
L.B. McClure went to Wrigley on business Friday.

J.C. Bryant sold to W.W. Loveless ( rest is torn )
May? Bryant is the daughter of C.P. Dennis. Courtney Dennis and Ora Heizer
married Feb. 16. Rev. G.W. Bowling officiating. The bride is the daughter
of Joseph Heixer, of Pomeroyton. Hurrah for C.P. Dennis and wife, daughter-in-law,
and grand daughter on same day.
While trying their manhood at this place Ottis Murphy and Rollie Murphy in
a friendly scuffle , Rollie unfortunately got his leg broke.
R.A. Day has bought Henry Murphy`s stock of goods and has taken possession,
Maytown in on a boom.
Jack Ratliff had a sale the 16th and will start to Mo., where he will make
his future home, also Walter Nickell and family will start to Ill. , in a
few days. They are good citizens and will be missed in our neighborhood. We
wish them God`s speed and good luck through future life.
Clay Pireatt has bought a small tract of land, of M.W. Pieratt and is building
a house on same.
Born to the wife of E.M. Pireatt, a girl the 8th.
J.M. Rowland was at West Liberty on business last week.
Fannie and Coy Rowland who has been visiting at Paint are at home again.
Mrs. Relma Elam is able to be out again.
Mrs. Calie Hill is on the sick list this week.
The wife of the writer is on the sick list this week.
When the COURIER arrived I was greatly surprised at the long list of good men and highly respected citizens of our county being on the Delinquent list such as F.M. Jones, G.W. Phipps, J.M. Murphy, Silas Pieratt with several others. Now gentle readers as to F.M. Jones, he was born and raised 5 miles east of his native town West Liberty has been a tax payer for 47 years always pais his taxes in due time. ( rest is unreadable ).

Frank Havens whose illness we mentioned last week is no better.

Dave Williams bought of Gordon Cottle a mule for $110.
Wess Wheeler and Leborn Lykins returned from Mt. Sterling Tuesday and report
the cattle market dull.
The Stork visited the home of Burnnie Collinsworth on 17 and left a girl.
Dave Williams was at Caney Monday on business.
A number of our citizens attended the Couch sale Wednesday.
Harve Ferman an old Confederate Veteran died at Bill Shorts on the 14 with
lagripp, Mrs. Bethel Henry, wife of James Monroe Henry, died at her home on
Big Caney creek on the 17 with heart trouble. Frank Cecil died at his home
on Grassy creek on the 17 with pneumonia. Hyram Grear was found dead in his
bed Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Sarah Sheets near Pekin.
Mr. Grear was 89 years old, was well respected by all who knew him. His remains
were interred Wednesday in the family grave yard near his old home on Grassy.
What we said in last weeks issue in regard to the probability of the committee
in this Legislative district leaving it to Wolf county alone to name the nominee
for representative was not written in the interest of any particular candidate.
But as we then believed and our mind has not under gone any change yet that
it would be a very serious mistake ___ ____ committee to say that the minority
should control a _______ for that would be undemocratic and a very dangerous
___ to take and we have never believed that the committee would do it. Let
them call a primary or district mass meeting to give every democrat in Morgan
and Wolf counties an opportunity to vote for the man of his choice than the
nominee let him _______ _______, Horton, Dyre or any other democrat who might
have _____ _____ ______ bee buzzing about ___ ___ ___ ___ have at his ___
___ ___ ___ democracy. ( rest is unreadable )
