Helen Williams Brooks,74, of Lacy Creek Road,West Liberty, Kentucky died tuesday,October 15,2002, at Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital,West Liberty,Kentucky. Born April 28,1928, in Morgan County,Kentucky,Helen was a daughter of the late Manford and Flossie Dawson Williams. She was saved in 1996 and attended different Baptist churches in the area. She was a retired employee from a meat packing company. Besides her parents,Helen was preceded in death by one sister,Leatha Williams. Survivors include her husband,Lee "Bear" Brooks; a daughter,Karen and Dennie Grooms of Dayton,Ohio,one son.Mike Mays of Xenia,Ohio; two sisters,Georgia and Bill Humphreys, of Faubush,Kentucky; and Betty and Ray Ross of Yellow Springs,Ohio; four brothers, Russell Williams of Faubush,Kentucky,Raymond and Marie Williams of Fairborn,Ohio,Arkie and Emma Sue Williams of Beavercreek,Ohio and Archie and Lena Williams of Fairborn,Ohio;two stepsons, Darrell Brooks and Chalvis Brooks,both of West Liberty;four stepdaughters,Ival and Bill Nickell of West Liberty,Sharon and Tim Jenkins of Salyersville, Joy and Acey Burcham of Hammond,Indiana and Marsha and Jerry Crisp of Hazel Green;five granddaughters,Tanya, Tammy,Kelli and Jodi Grooms and Amber Minshall; three grandsons, Michael,John and Jamie Mays; one step grandson,Tony Brooks; four step granddaughters,Brook and Mindy Jenkins,Kelli and Ivalea Brooks; fore great grandsons and two great granddaughters. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday,October 18,2002, at Potter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arlie Nickell and Rev. Dan Lamaster officiating. Burial followed in the Brooks Cemetary, Jones Creek Road,West Liberty,with Potter Funeral Home of West Liberty, in charge of arrangements. Willie Ison and the Rev. TrumanFannin. Burial will be in Aut Stevens Cemetery at Route 3, WestLiberty. Born Sunday, February 22, 1942, in Carrolton, Ky, Georgia was a daughter of the late Russell Hambrick and Virginia Bartlett. She was a homemaker and mother. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Belknap Community Church for 25 years, and also a member of the Full Gospel Deliverance Church in Jackson. Her husband, Milford Gay Bailey, and one son, Gregory Bailey, perceded her in death. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Quentin (Buck) Bailey and wife, Ceclia Kay, and Timothy Bailey and wife, Patricia, all of Lee City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie Patrick and husband, Gerald, of Lexington, Melissa Nichell and husband Randy, and Jennifer Sallie and husband, Eugene, all of Lee City; four granddaughters, Tiffany Nickell, Leigh Ann Wilson, Natasha Bailey, and Desirae Bailey; four grandsons, Jared Patrick, Chase Nickell, Zachary Sallie, and Wesley Sallie; one great grandson, Braxton Scott Writht and her mother-in-law, Maxine Bailey of Lee City. Born June 6, 1933, in Morgan County, Ky, Eugene was a son of the late Emmitt Bartley and Lena Henry Bartley. He was a retired employee of the State Highway Department. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by a half brother, Ralph Bartley. Survivors include his wife, Opal Stamper Bartley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie Gene and Beverly Bartley, and Christopher Eugene and Lorri Bartley, all of Frenchburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Sue and John Watkins of Speedwell, Tennessee, Joyce Ann and William Hemp of Louisville, and Kathy Lee and James Ballard of Means; one half sister, Sandra Lee Hammersley, of Florida; two half brothers, Harold Bartley and Donnie Bartley, both of Dayton Oh; four grandsons, Brandon Bartley, Brent Bartley, Tyler Bartley, and John Hemp; five granddaughters, Hannah Bartley, Tabitha Watkins-Miles, Staci Hemp, Megan Ballard and Michelle Ballard. Harry Flannery, Marty Bradley, Jaw Rowland, Jerry Wells, Heath Bartley, and Ronnie Roseberry. ******************************************************** Carmie Fultz Carmie Mae Fultz, 89, of Sandy Hook, passed away Friday Nov 8, 2002 at Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty. Mrs Fultz was born May 12, 1913, at Elkfork, a daughter of the late Edgar Cassidy and Haley Adkins Cassidy. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Fred Moore and Gus Fultz; two sons, Harrison Moore and Herman Moore; three brothers, Auttie Cassidy, Lee Cassidy and Lester Cassidy; and four sisters, Bessie Miller, Martha Link, Lou Elliott and Ether Elliott. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are one son, Thurman and Janice Moore, of Sandy Hook; three daughters, Clara and William Lewis of Olive Hill, Irene and L.B. Hammons, of Elkfork and Haley and Darrell Adkins of Fairborn, Oh; 23 grandchildren, 45 Great-grandcildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 am Tuesday, November 12, 2002, at Eldridge Funeral Home, in Sandy Hook, with Larry Dale Ison, officiating. Castle Robert S Castle, 84, of Grassy Creek, died Thursday, Nov 7, 2002, at Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital, in West Liberty. Mr Castle was born January 19, 1918, at Centerville, Ky, a son of the late John S and Bytha Engle Castle. He was a WWII veteran having served in the US Army, and was retired from Cambridge Tile Company. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Castle, Denzil Castle, and Virgil Castle; and one sister, Edith Burchett. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Castle; three stepchildren, Marcus Gevedon and wife, Linda, of Grassy Creek, Carolyn Hollon and husband, Mark, Charlotte Lawson and husband, Willard, all of Miamisburg, Oh; one brother Willie Herman Castle and wife, Rita, of Varsailles, Indiana; two sisters, Beula McGee and husband, Max, of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Mary Catherine Lumpkins and husband, Chester, of West Liberty; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 9, at Potter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Frisby officiating. Burial followed in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, at Grassy Creek. Military services were conducted at the graveside by Morgan County DAV. Pallbearers were Marcus Gevedon, Eddie Joe Castle, Jody Castle, Ben Castle, Shannon Kimelton, Jackie Lumpkins, Michael Lumpkins, Jamie Lumpkins, Keith Gullett, and Drexell Castle. *********************************************************************** |
