married; and died in or around these three counties and towns of Hawesville, Hancock, Co., KY and
Whitesville, Daviess Co., KY he is buried in the Roseville Cemetery; He was he born in Ohio Co.
KY according to Marriage License. There is some confusion here; as I have be told that He was
supposed to have been a full-blooded CROW Indian, and added the "E"; in hopes he could get a job
in a coal mine; with the spelling of a white man's name. One of our ancestors was supposed to have
been a Scout for the U.S. Army about the time of "Little Big Horn" era; they called him "Charlie";
also it has been said that this ancestor had loaded his family into a Covered Wagon and traveled
EAST whereas the White Man was traveling WEST. (I have not been able to verify this however.) f.

Looking for any information on John & William STEPHENSON, brothers, that married Rhoda and
Susan PEAY, sisters, in Ohio Co, KY on Christmas day, 1867. They were married in the household

marriage records and certificates.
These families left Ohio Co. for Texas about 1875. The PEAY sisters had 3 brothers that stayed in

Several people have been searching for the origin of these STEPHENSON brothers. So far, these
marriage records are the earliest found.

HANCOCK - BEHELER - HUDSON - HOWER
John W. and Mattie M. (HANCOCK) BEHELER owned land in Ohio Co. in the 1890's. I have
copies of the Ohio Co. Circuit Court Equity papers, which foreclose on the property known as a
part of the Thomas HUDSON farm. The foreclosure took place after the death of Mattie Aug 30,
1894. These papers are the only lists I have been able to find of all their surviving children together
(listed as heirs and defendants in the foreclosure suit.) The plaintiff was F. M. HOOVER. Sometime
before Mattie died, the family apparently moved to Henderson Co., because she and a daughter died
there and John died there in 1897. In John's will, he asks that Francis M. HOWER of Ohio Co. be
made guardian of two of the children. Does anyone have information on Francis M. HOWER? Is
there a family relationship there that I have overlooked? Are there newspapers that might detail the
foreclosure suit? I have a webpage called "Saga of the BEHELER Orphans" which names all the
children and much of what I know about them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
