About This Site

This web site first came online on June 12, 1996 as part of the Kentucky GenWeb Project, formed in March 1996. In July 1996 the USGenWeb Project was organized to extend the idea to other states.

The county pages are all maintained by volunteers, and coordinated by email. I like to think of the USGenWeb Project as being like an old-fashioned community quilt. Each volunteer gets to design his or her square however they like, so long as they can all be fit together. We meet at the master page to sew our squares together, and presto, we've got us a quilt.

There are two copies of this home page, one located at Rootsweb (to be closer to the KyGenWeb state page and the Rootsweb message boards) and one located at Best Internet (to be closer to my personal genealogy pages.) You can bookmark either one (or both.)
