Lafayette CHAMBERS was born about 1825, death unknown. Lafayette married Susan Dickerson. May 19, 1857. Married by William Rexroat, minister Baptist Church, at Samuel Dickerson's. Bond: May 19, 1857, Samuel Dickerson (father) as surety. Witnesses: Samuel Dickerson, Jesse Dickerson, (brother). (Russel county marriages, 1826-1865 - Cain-Curry, 2-255,256.) Susan was born about 1830, death unknown. The Adair Co. News reported in 1901, she and her siblings had a family reunion their 4 ages totaled 384 years. (Susan would have been 71 years old at the time.) Lafayette had a Land Grant in Adair Co. The Kentucky Land Grants, Vol. 1, Pt. 2, Chapter 10. "Grants in the county court orders (1836-1924) The counties of Ky. Page 1095. Grantee: Chambers, Lafayette, Acres: 50, Book: 36, Page:567, Date Survey: 1-18-1852, County: Adair, Watercourse: Damrons Creek. So Lafayette had land about 5 years before he married. Lafayette's family is listed in the 1870 Adair Co. census, Neatsville District, (Neatsville is just a few miles west of Pellyton), Neatsville P.O., p.28, house 197, family 197 CHAMBERS, Lafayette, 45, m, w, farmer, $300/$200, b. KY Susan, 40, f, w, Keeping house, KY James M., 11, m, w, working on farm, KY Sally, 9, f, w, at home, KY Florinda, 7, f, w, KY George, 5, m, w, KY (This Census is basis for fixing the birth dates.) In the 1880 census, Neatville district, p. 9, house 62, family 63 CHAMBERS, Lafayette, w, m, 60, married, farmer, KY is living alone. (reason unknown) Lafayette and Susan had 4 children 1. James M. Chambers, born 1859, died March 7, 1927 in Lincoln Co., KY. at age 68. 2. Sally Chambers, no info. 3. Florinda Chambers, no info. 4. George Richard Chambers was (my gggf.) born 4-9-1865 at Pellyton, in Adair co., died 11-14-1937 at Irene, in Taylor co. George was married twice. First marriage is still an unknown. Second marriage to Mary Ellen PETERSON. (Peterson genealogy published in 1988.) George married Mary on 5-16-1898 in Taylor co.

Had children James, Nancy, Green, Winny, John W., Margaret (d.y.), Fanney and Louisa in Russell before they moved west by 1860. They are said to have lived in Fairfield, Benton Co., Mo. 1876-1886 and then to a place near or at Paris, Logan Co., Arkansas. Henry in 1887 states that he is 75 years old. Would like to know the correct name of wife and anything about this family.
