I am seeking information on Shelby S. Vanhoy born Kentucky 1857. His mother married a Jesse Briley from Kentucky. The 1880 census for Umatilla Co. Oregon lists his mother's first name as Dorinda. They came west in 1864. I do not know what county he was born in but there is a Shelby S. VanHoy in the 1860 census in Russell Co. Kentucky. This Shelby S. VanHoy has a different birth date and the mother wasn't married to Jesse Briley. But having the same name and same state makes me think there is a connection. Any help of suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, PHigley
