Welcome to Russell County Queries Page

The USGenWeb Auto-Query Form has been disabled prior to the creation of this new website, and a no new system is being planned. Queries will be hosted by Rootsweb, for convenience mostly, as there is already a message board going.

Please note I am no way connected with their site and will have no special assistance in this regard and you will also need to make note of the rules for the Rootsweb message board. To post  a query, please follow the instructions below where I have listed some basic rules and tips which should act as a guideline for forming your query. If you have any questions, please refer to their website for any links to follow for further assistance. Thanks for visiting, and Happy Hunting!

Instructions, cautions, caveats and tips for queries:

1.) Your query must have a RUSSELL COUNTY connection to appear on the Russell County page.

2.) Try to be as specific as possible in your queries. Remember someone may be looking for the same family as you, but without giving them (or their search engine) sufficient information you may never find each other. If you're unsure, take a look at some of the better queries on the page, or think about what type of information that YOU would be looking for in query.

3.) Consider all VARIANT SPELLINGS of your given surname when formulating your query.

4.) Enter your query information EXACTLY as you want it to appear.

5.) Please, don't spam. Spamming means entering the same post over and over, or USING THE BOARD AS A PERSONAL CHAT MEDIUM, or advertising. If you have something unique to post or a unique query, then by all means, post it. Email addresses are provided in the entries for personal communications if you want to continue the conversation with the poster. Duplicate entries will be deleted. Try to keep to the subject if you reply to a post. Think of the board as a meeting place for Russell County, Kentucky genealogy interests, not a discussion forum.

6.) Review past queries to find a distant cousin who may unlock the mysteries of your elusive ancestors!View examples in the Archives Past Queries, Click the Links below:
